Back Lot Music Releases Soundtrack To "The Scorpion King 4: Quest For Power" Featuring Score By Geoff Zanelli
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Back Lot Music) Back Lot Music releases the digital soundtrack album for The Scorpion King 4: Quest for Power, Universal Pictures' action/adventure feature starring Victor Webster and Lou Ferrigno, it was announced today. The soundtrack features 20 new score cues by Emmy Award-winning composer Geoff Zanelli ("Into the West" miniseries). The film is available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD today. La-La Land Records will release the physical soundtrack album on January 27th.

Zanelli has become a standout in the film and television scoring industry, garnering accolades and recognition for his work since going solo after numerous collaborations with Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer.

Zanelli had a fond experience working with director Mike Elliot, saying, "What gives this movie its identity and sets it apart is the way it uses humor to challenge the cliches and gender stereotypes that can keep a fantasy film from feeling fresh, or fun, or original." With respect to the score, he goes on to say, "I tried to imbue the score with gravitas and play to the epic nature of the story. But whenever I'd start to get pretentious or too self-important, my director [Elliot] would say something like, 'Geoff, please don't forget that there are two grown women in tattered clothes having a cage fight in this movie.' There's a dragon, too."

In 2012, Geoff scored Disney's feature The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton, to great critical reception. He was also heard in indie-film Louder Than Words starring David Duchovny, Hope Davis and Timothy Hutton and in the Emmy-nominated miniseries "Killing Kennedy", starring Rob Lowe. His latest albums include the Grammy-Winning Love Has Come For You, the bluegrass album from Steve Martin and Edie Brickell for which Geoff wrote all the string arrangements, and the long-awaited release of Zanelli's Emmy-Award Winning score to Steven Spielberg and DreamWorks television's 2008 miniseries "Into The West" from Paramount and La-La Land Records.

Next up for Zanelli is Lionsgate's "Mortdecai", with score and songs co-written by Zanelli and Mark Ronson.
