Biography

Ever since the release of their first album "This Should Work" is the Viennese band DAWA no longer a secret between friends handmade and honest singer / songwriter music, but was regarded as one of the new discoveries of 2013. Two voices, a guitar, a Cajon and cello and especially the people behind it, so give a perfect picture that you do not want to believe that the composition only chance has directed the film. Even more amazing is that oama Richson has only since August replaces the previous percussionist Norbert Kroll and the image changes, but has lost none of its harmony.

For the difficult task of "Second album" the band has withdrawn with the new producer Patrick Pulsinger & Oliver Brunbauer the Styrian Schrattenberg to the new long player "Psithurisma" (Greek, Blätterrauschen) "live" record for several weeks. With Pulsinger on the page created 10 new songs (on "This Should Work") inferior to lyrical depth and musical originality in their predecessors nothing.

It was both new analog instruments (Shruti box, washboard, ukulele, accordion ...) as well as with one, two experiments electronic elements and so the DAWA sound not reinvented but was perfected.

As the first harbinger from the album was "On the Run" is selected, showing how the band with the simplest means getting to the point, why do all the other digital orchestra: With two exceptional voices, guitar, cello and percussion they tell stories without detours, without paraphernalia without distraction and give a brief but direct view into the world of DAWA. Open, but with closed eyes.
