Hermitude, Mataya & Young Tapz


Now residing in Sydney, Luke Dubs and Elgusto grew up in the Blue Mountains where they took up musical instruments at a young age. They’ve played together with Elgusto’s sister Aja in a funk/jazz group called Funk Injection since their early teens. Elgusto has DJ'd and played percussion with Paulmac and The Dissociatives... He’s also played with The Bird, Wes Carr, Explanetary, The Herd, Upshot and Paulmac. You can also check his DJing at various events and clubs.

Mataya is from Croatia.Interesting influences of style and flair are apparent in this electronic masterpiece, semi-commercialisms erupt in a couple of the tracks but this crossover between west and eastern borders makes for an interesting listen. Mellow, chilled, ambient with a touch of melodic IDM.

The musical journey of Young Tapz is undeniably one out of the ordinary. Music came in every shape and form, from merely singing along to it, dancing to it, and even picking up his mum’s pots and pans and jamming as a child growing up in Zimbabwe. Though it wasn’t one of his main priorities, it was certainly running through his veins and this was proven when he moved to New Zealand at the age of nine.
