Biography

Camaron Marvel Ochs (known simply as Cam) is an American country music singer and songwriter signed to Arista Nashville. She is best known for "My Mistake" and "Burning House", the singles from her first EP Welcome to Cam Country. As a songwriter, she is best known for "Fall Madly in Love with You", a track from Maggie Rose's debut album Cut to Impress, as well as "Maybe You're Right" from Miley Cyrus' album Bangerz.

Cam is from the west coast of the United States and attributes her heritage to shaping her personally and musically. She is a native of San Francisco, California, with her grandparents running a ranch in Oceanside, California. Cam would visit the ranch with her parents and work with her grandfather feeding the horses. She grew up listening to Country music stars that include Patsy Cline, Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson. Cam followed her grandparent's love of classic country music. She learned to sing in multiple languages and also started her own a cappella group in college. She studied abroad and began to play the guitar while in the Netherlands.

Cam moved to Los Angeles, California after college and began collaborating with Tyler Sam Johnson. She recorded some demos with Johnson in an attempt to attract Faith Hill, eventually leading to the demos being heard by Tim McGraw's manager Scott Siman.
Her song "Fall Madly in Love with You" was chosen as a track for Cut to Impress, the 2013 debut album from Maggie Rose. Cam moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she began to write music for other artists, but turned down a publishing deal wanting to prove herself on her own. She is also credited with the song "Maybe You're Right" on Bangerz, the 2013 studio album from Miley Cyrus.

Cam launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2013 to produce 10 songs with Johnson.
The campaign was supported by producer Jeff Bhasker, known best for his work with artists that include Beyonce, fun., Bruno Mars, The Rolling Stones, and P!nk. The same year Cam toured Denmark and Sweden with Helsingborg band Karavan, having previously collaborated with Anders Mouridsen of the group while in Los Angeles.

Cam released her debut song, "My Mistake", through Arista Nashville in 2014. The song is from her debut EP Welcome to Cam Country, also released through Arista. The song was featured as one of Billboard's Tomorrow's Hits in February 2015 and debuted at No. 58 on Billboard's Country Airplay chart the same month. All four songs from the EP received close to five million streams on Spotify in less than a month after its release. She also toured nationally with Dan + Shay in 2014 on their Where It All Began tour.

It was followed in June by her second single, "Burning House". Both songs will appear on her debut album, which will be produced by Jeff Bhasker and Tyler Johnson.
