Biography
Ruti Olajugbagbe is a new singing sensation from Essex, England, United Kingdom. The 18 years old singer is best known for her appearance in popular British singing show The Voice UK Season 7. She is living with her parents and brother Femi. Ruti is working as part time carer along with her studies. She is currently studying in Youth Creation Performing Art School. Ruti Olajugbagbe is also a member of a harmony group and dance crew.
Ruti Olajugbagbe is a student and part-time carer from South-end-on-sea. She lives with her dad, mum and little brother Femi. She is currently attending the Youth Creation Performing Arts School in Stanford-le-Hope. She also works on her youtube channel. She performs covers of songs including ‘Use Somebody‘ and ‘Latch‘ for her YouTube channel and enjoys mixing songs together. No stranger to competition, she is a member of a harmony group and a dance crew. She enjoys listening to lots of different styles of music. She likes doing her own versions of songs on her guitar and mixing songs together. She has been involved in several solo singing performances.
As a contestant in The Voice UK 2018– She is performing very well in “The Voice UK Series 7”. She mesmerized the judges with her blind audition on “Budapest”. After a powerful rendition of George Ezra’s Budapest, Tom Jones chose her to be part of his team. Now, she has secured her place in the semi-finals of this show. The first semi-finals take place on Saturday, March 31, at 8:30 pm on ITV.
She sang in the final of Thurrock’s young musician of the year 2013 and Thurrock Contemporary musician of the year 2013.
She has been taking singing lessons for a year and a half and has been playing the guitar since September 2013.
She is highly influenced by bands such as Bastille and Arctic Monkeys as well as singer Emeli Sande.
She has been dancing since the age of three. She is currently working towards grade 5 in Ballet; Preliminary in Modern and Preliminary in Tap.
