Artists Stand Up to Cancer is a charity single that was released in late August 2008. On September 5, 2008, the single was performed by the artists on US Local Station, including ABC, CBS, and NBC. The single featured Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna, Fergie, Sheryl Crow, Melissa Etheridge, Natasha Bedingfield, Miley Cyrus, Leona Lewis, Carrie Underwood, Keyshia Cole, LeAnn Rimes, Ashanti, and Ciara. It was very similar to Artist Against AIDS Worldwide and Band Aide, however Artists Stand Up to Cancer received heavy airplay, unlike the others, and was released in the digital age. One it will be uploaded to iTunes, it is most likely to top charts around the globe. All money made from the event will go towards helping fight cancer.
