I think Beyoncé had an amazing year with hit singles "Crazy In Love" and "Baby Boy." She also had an amazing album "Dangerously In Love" which is one of the best selling albums of the year.
Justin Timberlake had a great year with hit singles "Cry Me A River" and "Rock Your Body" which both reached number 2. He has had the second best selling album of the year "Justified."
Christina Aguilera has had an amazing year with hit singles "Beautiful," "Fighter" and "Can't Hold Us Down" ft. Lil' Kim. She had the third best selling album of the year "Stripped."
Black Eyed Peas had a fantastic breakthrough in Britain with their debut single "Where Is The Love?" which was number 1 for 6 weeks and is the best selling single of the year. They have also had a number 2 catchy single "Shut Up."
50 Cent made a massive breakthrough all over the world with smash single "In Da Club." He has also had other top 10 hits "21 Questions" and "P.I.M.P" ft. Snoop Dogg and G-Unit. He has also helped a group called G-Unit make breakthrough with the song "Stunt 101" which only reached a dismal 29.
Delta Goodrem is another actress from neighbours who has become a popstar. She has had a fantastic year with smash hits "Born To Try," "Lost Without You" and "Innocent Eyes."
Busted have had a fantastic year in Britain. They have had two number 1 singles "You Said No" and "Crashed The Wedding." Also, they have had an impressive self-titled album and new album "A Present For Everyone."
Dido had a fantastic year with the best selling album of the year "Life For Rent." She also had a number 2 smash "White Flag" and another top 10 hit "Life For Rent."

Rock music had a great year in 2003. Plenty of bands did well. The Darkness have had an amazing year with 2 number 2 hits, "I Belive In A Thing Called Love" and "Christmas Time (Don't Let The Bells End)." They also had another top 10 hit "Growing On Me." They have an album which has sold thousands.
Evanescence made an impressive breakthrough in Britain this year. They debuted at number 1 with "Bring Me To Life" ft. Paul McCoy and have had other top 10 hits "Going Under" and "My Immortal." They have also had one of the best selling albums of the year.
The White Stripes have had a great year as well. "Seven Nation Army" had big sales and the tune, everyone remembers it. Their album "Elephant" has had big sales as well reaching number 1.
Muse have had a reasonable year with Top 10 hit "Time Is Running Out" and number 1 album "Absolution." Blur made a comeback with the single "Out Of Time" which got in the top 5 and number 1 album "Think Tank." Metallica made a comeback with the single "St. Anger" which got in the top 10. Radiohead have had 2 top 10 hits "There There" and "Go To Sleep."

Other people who have had a good year in 2003:
- Blu Cantrell.
- Jamelia.
- Kelly Osbourne.
- Madonna.
- Ozzy Osbourne.
- Pink.
- Sean Paul.

Cannot resist to add some pessimism:
1. "Justified" is not bestselling albums of 2003 - Dido's "Life for Rent" is
2. "Stunt 101" is clear flop - where's breakthrough here?
3. Radiohead's "Go To Sleep"(unfortunately) wasn't Top10 hit...
4. Blu Cantrell had a #1 single, but couldn't capitalise on it
5. Jamelia's 2nd single sinked without trace
6. Madonna's "American Life" is the worst selling album (of original material) in her career
7. "The Osbournes" ratings dropping every show, and 3rd season is under question after Ozzi's crash (I hope he'll recover)
8. Pink's 3rd album flopped

I suggest to add Dido to list of winners - most critics didn't believe her 2nd albums will sell that well, but it did :-)

I didn't think Jamelia was releasing a new song till january this year? I think Justin and Dido had good years, deservedly.
