The Album chart has a lot of class - many genres, and shows more of what tastes people have overall. This week, I think it was a good battle - both Dido and Will deserve to be up there, but Dido is an Album Chart giant where as, say, Westlife, are a singles chart giant.

I'm really glad Dido is at No1, i'm getting 'Fridays Child' for Christmas, i haven't heard it yet, but i love 'Leave Right Now' and i'm sure the rest will be excellent. I had high hopes for 'Body Language' from Kylie, it seemed to be at No6 in the first week and then went into freefall. I think its an excellent album and people are being put off by 'Slow' which wasn't a song that everyone could like. It isnt the best song on the album, so go buy it!

With three days this week leading up to Christmas, a lot of last minute shopping will no doubt take place throughout the country. I'm guessing that, for another week each, Dido 'Life For Rent' and Will Young 'Friday's Child' will sell impressively to remain top 2 (but in which order???).
The rest of the top 10 will be likely to stay pretty much the same, again!!! Michael Jackson will spent another week no. 3 - then from no. 4 onwards it could go to anybody.
With the success of 'Life For Rent' I'm sure that this is now the biggest selling album of 2003. Will Young has sold about 750,000 in the last three weeks - but it's hard to get hold of a list of the biggest selling albums of 2003, so I don't know where Will would rank at this moment - probably just around 10??? I know Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera have sold 1,000,000 of their albums this year in the UK. Busted sold 900,000 of their first album. Not sure about Beyonce though!!!
It would be great if the biggest selling albums of 2003 could be listed here, just like the singles YTD chart.
See ya later
