Yo
This thread crosses the boundaries of HipHop and RnB but since i had to choose between the RnB or the HipHop section to post, I choose this one, I believe club bangers or floorfillers are more hiphop related. Anyway the music it is about is: urban(hiphop, rnb, dancehall)
Some introduction into my problem space before asking the main question(s);
I work at a club and recently the boss want us to play more urban music ( fine by me :P ). The club isn't that big at all, it's very small; it can contain 300 people max. The minimum age is 16 years old (most dutch clubs starts at this age). The club resides in a small seaside resort with lots of tourists, that's why it is so packed with people every night during the summer holiday! So these people have the vacation-vibe already. They aren't music critical... as long as I play commercial/well-known tracks it's all okay. Some tracks that are doing really great in the club are, as I recall them as the floorfillers or club essentials:
Crooklyn Clan - Be Faithful
Beyonce - Crazy Luv
Kevin Little - Turn me on
Dr. Dre - Next Episode
N.E.R.D - Lapdance
N.E.R.D - She likes to move
Kelis - Trick Me
EVE - Who's that girl
50 Cents - In the Club
Beenie man feat. ? - Dancehall queen (forget artist)
Crooklyn Clan - Where the ladiez at (remix, i like this track)
As you can see, all tracks are quite well-known, except of Crooklan clan - Where the ladiez at, the reason why this track is doing great in my club is because of its catchy tune/beat, as soon the crowd hears the beat, they immediatelly like it. Now, one of my questions is: Do u guys know more of this party breaks/commercial tracks for this small 'commercialized' club? The best party break track for my club is 'Be Faithful' though. What about you? What are your well-known floorfiller(s)?
Good tracks, not floorfillers though, but people starts screamin'/yellin' if they recognize the tune, I play these tracks when I need to keep the crowd busy, not leaving the dancefloor but keep the atmosphere on a high energetic level:
Dr. Dre - Still D.R.E
Da Luniz - Got 5 on it
Montel Jordan - (forgot name, this is how we do it...it's friday night...)
Lumidee - OOh ooh (last year, big hit, currently not a floorfiller anymore)
Notch - Nuttin' To go so (great dancehall song)
Hopefully I gave a helpfull description of my problem and hopefully you guys can help me out by pinpointing which tracks I should listen to..
Thanx in advance
