Good Delta
8 January 2004, 08:59
Hi, I was formerly known as Richard Stuart-Turner and then RetroMusic2k, but I have called myself Good Delta, after my website which is dedicated to the popular Australian-at www.geocities.com/gooddelta
Anyway, I thought I would post my current top 10, just to see what people think of it!!!

2. Motorcycle-As the rush comes (NEW)
3. Atomic Kitten-Ladies night (1)
4. Atomic Kitten-Believer (2)
5. Atomic Kitten-Nothing in the world (3)
6. Atomic Kitten-Always be my baby (6)

2. Dannii Minogue-Neon nights (3)
3. Delta Goodrem-Innocent Eyes (2)

5. Clubland 4 (8)

So singles wise XTM and Motorcycle debut inside the top 2 positions with last weeks top 3-all tracks from Atomic Kitten's Ladies night album dip two places each. Outside the top 5 is some Delta Goodrem, dance music from Ultrabeat and Flip 'n Fill and Atomic Kitten-Always be my baby the only non-mover at No.6. In my album chart Atomic Kitten get a third week at No.1, Dannii Minogue and fellow Australian Delta Goodrem-who spent 15 weeks at No.1, swap places and there are 2 re-entries in the top 5 from Sophie and the Clubland collection as Now 56 and Hits 57 fall out of the top 5 this week.

In the albums, Delta Goodrem's Innocent eyes returns to the top after entering at No.1 back in June 2003. What is Sarah McLachlan like? I've never heard her before. Delta Goodrem is good! Also, I think you're a dance fan.

9 March 2004, 12:50
Sarah McLachlan is a really good female singer from Canada, she sang on a big hit from 2000 called Silence by Delerium and has also had hits of her own like Adia and Angel. Yes, I am a dance fan. I like most types of music, but pop and dance are the main two.

In the singles chart album track World on Fire climbs to one to replace Fallen, meanwhile Train wreck climbs to 3 giving it a Sarah dominated top 3. Elsewhere Kelly Llorenna falls from No.4 out of the top 10 along with Northern Heightz, to be replaced by Sarah and Atomic Kitten. A big drop from Kylie (2--8) provides climbers for Delta Goodrem and Special D who both return to the top 5 this week.

Its Sarah McLachlan again!!! In the album chart Afterglow and Mirrorball remain at No.1 & 2 respectively while Delta also sticks, with Floor Fillers dipping to No.5. This means that the only new entry goes to Kylie Minogue's Body Language at No.3. In the singles last weeks No.1 and 2 swap places meaning that Fallen returns to the top. Stupid also climbs into the top 3. Everything else stays mainly in the same place, with the only new entry this week courtesy of Neo Cortex with Elements.

A very odd chart outlook this week. In the album chart, while Sarah McLachlan's Afterglow has a fourth week at No.1, Kylie's old album, Light Years, which I just got belatedly enters at No.2, pushing Sarah's Mirrorball, her Body Language and Delta down a place. In the singles, the alternating singles from Sarah McLachlan mean that World on Fire and Fallen swap places again. Kylie and another Sarah album track provide the only new entries, while Neo Cortex's new entry Elements from last week shoots up from No.10 to No.3. Elsewhere Atomic Kitten and Special D hover around the middle of the top 10!!!

In the albums Kylie's old album plummets to No.5 while Body Languag goes up to its peak position. Sarah's two albums stick and Delta goes back up. In the singles, the only new entry this week comes from the long awaited comeback from the Corrs, who debut at a respectable No.2. For once No.1 stays the same with Sarah's World on Fire stays at No.1. Elsewhere, everything stays very similar to last week, with Special D making their return to the top 5!!!

In the albums Sarah McLachlan leaves No.1 with Afterglow although remains in the top 3 with 2 albums. She is replaced by compilation album Now 57 as Kylie and Delta both fall to the lower end of the top 5. In the singles, unusually there is one new entry at No.10 from Kylie, but the top 9 remain the same as last week, with 9 non-movers, meaning that Sarah's World on Fire spends a fourth week at No.1

Sarah McLachlan continues her chart domination as Afterglow knocks off Now 57 to claim a 6th week in total as the No.1 album, elsewhere in the album chart 3 non movers complete the top 5. In the singles chart there is some movement (unlike last week), with notable new entries from Alex Cartana and Kontakt debuting inside the top 5. Meanwhile World on Fire gives Sarah McLachlan a 5th week at No.1 in total with that song, while The Corrs new song Summer Sunshine spends a 3rd week at No.2. The only big slip this week has come from Special D who after two months in the top 10 plummet from No.4 to No.9!!!

In the singles this week there is finally a new No.1 courtesy of The Corrs who climb up from No.2 to knock Sarah McLachlan's World on fire to No.3 with her song Stupid taking the runners up space. There is other good news for her with Time climbing into the top 5 and Drifting finally entering the top 10. Kylie also re-enters at No.9 with Chocolate and Alex Cartana's Hey Papi climbs one to No.4. Kontakt's Show me a sign dips from No.3 out of the top 10 this week!!! In the albums everything stays the same apart from Kylie and Delta swapping places, meaning that Sarah has now had a massive seven weeks as the No.1 album with Afterglow!!!

All change in both charts this week. The arrival of the new Eurovision 2004 album ensures that for the first time in a couple of months Sarah McLachlan tops neither chart this week. Last weeks top 4 albums all move down a place. In a hectic singles top 10, there are a whopping 5 new entries all from the Eurovision with Malta taking the top spot, and Sweden, Russia, Andorra and Slovenia's entries not far behind. As the Corrs slide from 1 to 4 this week, Sarah McLachlan's World on fire takes a surprising climb to No.2 on its 9th week in the top 3!!!

Elsewhere, The Corrs return from No.4 to No.1 with Summer sunshine pushing down Malta's Julie & Ludwig. 5 Eurovision songs are in this weeks top 10 once again with Slovenia's Platin climbing into the top 3!!!

In the singles Corrs, fall back down to No.4 while Julie & Ludwig regain their No.1 spot. Sweden's Lena climbs up from No.5 and Eurovision winner Ukraine's Ruslana debuts at No.3. In the albums this week the top 10 remains the same with Eurovision spending a fourth week at No.1, and Sarah still in the top 3 with Jessica at No.3 again. Now 57 moves down a place and Kylie re-enters at No.4. In the singles there are no new entries or non movers, but some mild climbs and slips, with Eurovision winner Ruslana and The Corrs taking advantage of the new entry lull to take the top 2 positions.

Slight changes in both charts this week: In the albums the top 2 stay the same as usual...Naimee Coleman enters at No.3 pushing Jessica and Kylie down a place. In the singles Ruslana and Julie & Ludwig stay at No.1 and No.3 respectively, while a sudden surge from former No.1 World on Fire from Sarah McLachlan pushes her back up to No.2. The Corrs and Lena Philippson both fall down slightly while Lisa Andreas is replaced by Kylie and Anjeza Shahini takes a big slump from No.5 to No.10!!!

The return of The Corrs dominates the charts this week. In the album chart, Borrowed Heaven dives in at No.1 trouncing all competition including Hits 58, while long running albums Eurovision and Sarah McLachlan take a two place drop each. In the singles 6 songs leave the top 10 to make way for six new Corrs songs from Borrowed Heaven including Angel and Baby be brave at No.s 1 & 2 respectively. Ruslana gets pushed from 1 to 3 and Sarah's World on fire plummets from 2 to 8. There are smaller drops for Julie & Ludwig and Corrs' Summer sunshine which both drop 2 places. Phew!!!

The album chart and singles chart are topped by...The Corrs!!! Borrowed Heaven sticks at No.1 in the album chart with Hits 58 sticking at No.2. Sarah McLachlan and Eurovision 2004 swap places and Kylie Minogue re-enters at No.5. In the singles chart there are two new entries, the song Borrowed Heaven enters at No.10 and Zero 7 have a high new entry at No.3. Baby be brave climbs from No.2 to No.1 and Angel falls to No.4. Ruslana climbs a place with fellow Eurovision entry Julie & Ludiwg fall to No.7. Former No.1 World on fire by Sarah McLachlan falls a place and the rest of the top 10 is dominated by The Corrs!!!

A very unusual chart with lots of changes!!! In the albums The Corrs get a third week at No.1 while former No.1 Sarah McLachlan makes her way back up for the 2nd week running pushing Hits 58 down a place. Meanwhile Eurovision 2004 is knocked down one place by a new 90's compilation. In the singles it is a lot more odd. Firstly former No.1 World on fire by Sarah McLachlan which has been slowly dipping down the top 10 leaps back up to No.1 for a 6th week in total from No.9!!! Zero 7 also climb, from No.3 to No.2 pushing The Corrs (who still have 5 songs in the top 10) down to No.3. The rest of the top 10 consitsts of Ruslana falling two places, a new entry from Girls Aloud at No.6 and former No.1 Julie & Ludwig just clinging to their top 10 position!!!

Another odd week!!! In the albums Corrs gain a fourth week in control with Friends reunited: the 90's climbing up to runner up place pushing down Sarah and Hits 58 while Eurovision 2004 sticks at the bottom. In the singles chart, Sarah McLachlan who returned to No.1 last week falls to No.3 meaning Zero 7 can take advantage to claim their first No.1 since Destiny in 2001!!! The Corrs also take advantage of a large slip from Ruslana and Summer sunshine and Baby be brave move up a spot. The only new entry comes from a predicted future big hit from shapeshifters while last weeks new entry from Girls Aloud moves up two places into the top 5!!!

A bit of a summer chart turnover in both charts this week. In the album chart the majority fall out with three new entries; a club album, an HMV sale prompted re-activation of an old Corrs album and No.1 going to last weeks singles No.1 act Zero 7, which I also picked up in the sale. Meanwhile in the singles there are a lot of changes, which should be added to next week, as just outside this weeks top 10 are a lot of new entries, which could climb next week. In the top 10, last weeks bottom three leave to make way for The Corrs, Flip & Fill new entries and a big re-entry from Kylie who goes back in to a peak position. Zero 7 succumb to Girls Aloud who climb three places up along with Shapeshifters. The big drops come from The Corrs 'Angel' and 'Baby be brave' and Sarah McLachlan's World on fire which all fall 5 places!!!

A very unusual chart this week. Girls Aloud slump 7 places from No.1 to No.8 in the singles chart. The two best songs of 2004: Sarah McLachlan 'World on fire' and The Corrs 'Summer sunshine' finally leave the top 10 allowing 3 new entries from Magnolia, Zero 7 and the return of Northern Heightz entering at No.4. Elsewhere, No.1 is taken by summer dance smash Shapeshifters, while The Corrs rise 4 places to No.2, pushing Zero 7's Somersault down a place. Flip & Fill's Discoland and The Corrs Baby be brave both remain in their place. In the albums a new entry comes from Christina's first ever album, recorded at age 15, while Friends reunited re-enters pushing out Sarah McLachlan and The Corrs. Borrowed Heaven however remains at No.3, Clubbers Guide moves up 3 places to No.2 while Zero 7 retain the top spot. Big songs bubbling outisde the top 10 and waiting to enter include: The Rasmus 'Guilty', Anastacia 'Sick and tired', Special D 'Nothing I won't do', Deepest Blue 'Shooting Star', Divine Inspiration 'Someday', Mania 'Looking for a place to go'!!!

Well...In the album chart the arrival of Clubland 5 has pushed Zero 7 down from the top spot and Clubbers guide down 2 places to No.4, however The Corrs and Friends Reunited stick at No.3 and No.5 respetively. In the singles chart the Shapeshifters stay at the top for week No.2 with Flip & Fill leaping up from No.5 to the runners up spot. Special D return with a cover of JX's 1996 hit Nothing I won't do, going straight into the top 3 while XTM's former No.1 returns to No.4. Zero 7 round off the top 5 with their 6 week top 5 runner Somersault. In the lower part of the top 10, The Corrs fall back to No.6 after a week at No.2, Divine Inspiration return at No.7, a cover of California Dreamin' debuts at No.8 which pushes Northern Heightz down 5 places and Zero 7's Passing by down one place. Outside the top 10 the No.1 from only 2 weeks ago; Girls Aloud is now at No.16 while Kylie, The Corrs and Magnolia all leave the top 10. Styles & Breeze, Deepest Blue, Anastacia and Natasha Bedingfield, are all releatively close to the top 10, so could potentially climb!!!

A fairly static chart in many ways, with the top 5 movement of the singles chart matching the albums. In the albums Clubland 5 stays at No.1 for week No.2, Zero 7 stay at No.2, while Friends Reunited compilation moves up to No.3. The Corrs fall one place and the years best album and former long running No.1, Sarah McLachlan re-enters the top 5. In the singles top 10 Shapeshifters and Flip & Fill stay at No's 1 & 2 respectively. Former No.1 Zero 7 move back up into the top 3 pushing Special D down one place. In the slightly lower end of the top 10 there are 3 new entries from Natasha Bedingfield, Deepest Blue and Styles & Breeze. Songs to look out for next week are: Anastacia, Ultrabeat and Jessica Simpson, who are all between 11 and 15 so could easily climb into the top 10!!!

A lot of changes happening particularly on the new entries front. Now 58 goes straight in to replace Clubland 5 at the top which pushes Zero 7 down one place which pushes Friends Reunited down 2 places while The Corrs stay at No.4 with Borrowed Heaven. In the singles chart Shapeshifters get a 4th consecutive week at the top, while Zero 7 climb back up again to No.2, Natasha Bedingfield climbs 3 places to complete the new look top 3. Flip & Fill fall to No.4 and Special D fall one to No.5, pushing last weeks No.5 by Styles & Breeze out of the top 10.In the lower end of the top 10 Deepest Blue climb to No.7 and are surrounded by 4 songs that were not there last week; New entries as predicted by Anastacia, Jessica Simpson and Ultrabeat, and a re-entry for The Corrs, Baby be brave. It is hard to predict what could happen next week as the songs lingering just outside of the top 10 are the songs that dropped out this week!!!

Little change with no album new entries and only one re-entry from The Corrs at No.7 in the singles which pushes Ultrabeat from the top 10. In the albums Now 58 falls to No.3 after just one week, being replaced by a former No.1, The Corrs-Borrowed Heaven. Friends Reunited and Clubland 5 stick while Zero 7 fall another place. In the singles, Shapeshifters become the first act since February to have 5 consecutive weeks at No.1, while a possible furture No.1, Natasha Bedingfield edges closer by climbing to the runners up position. Anastacia leaps up from No.10 to No.3, as does former No.1 Baby be brave by The Corrs leaping back to No.4. These climbs result in slips for others; Zero 7 on their 9th week in the top 5 go down 3 places with Somersault, Flip & Fill go down to No.6, Jessica goes down to No.8, Special D falls 4 places and Deepest Blue fall to No.10!!!

The weakest Clubland yet falls to No.4 on only its 5th week in the chart, while former No.1 Now 58 sticks at No.3. Kylie's 90's compilation of tracks from 'Kylie Minogue' and 'Impossible Princess', is new at No.2 after I picked it up in a sale, but The Corrs Borrowed Heaven completes a triumphant comeback with a 6th week in total at the top. In the singles, Jessica Simpson leaves, and is replaced by Hear me Calling, by Delta Goodrem at No.6. Elsewhere Shapeshifters succumb to the pressure of Natasha Bedingfield after 5 weeks in control, with Baby be brave and Angel climbing back to No.s 3 & 4 respectively. Anastacia falls to No.5 to complete the top 5. Flip & Fill fall one place to 7 with Discoland, while Zero 7's Somersault finally leaves the top 5 after 9 weeks, down to No.8. An extremely static chart this week. Starting with the albums, The Corrs stick at No.1 taking their total to 8 weeks at the top. Now 58 swaps places with Kylie, Clubland 5 sticks at No.4, and Zero 7 stick at No.5!!! In the singles there are 7 non-movers, 1 climber, 1 slipper and 1 new entry. The new entry is at No.10 for Girls Aloud, who have the potential to climb higher while Stonebridge are at No.11 this week and very narrowly miss the chance to be in the top 10. Elsewhere in the top 10: Speical D remain at No.9...Zero 7 stick at No.8...Flip & Fill don't budge from 7th place...Anastacia is the sole slipper, moving down 1 place while Delta Goodrem returns to the top 5 for the first time in 4 months...The Corrs stick at No.s 3 & 4 with Baby be brave and Angel respectively...Shapeshifters spend an 8th week in the top 5 and stick at No.2, while Nat Bed sticks at No.1 for a second week. 2. Now 58 (2)
3. Clubland 5 (4)
4. Friends Reunited: The 90's (Re-entry)
5. Kylie Minogue-Confide In Me (3)

Not an awful lot happening in the upper end of either chart for a third week. The Corrs Borrowed Heaven claims a 9th week in total at No.1, with Now 58 staying at No.2. Clubland 5 goes back up one place while Kylie falls to No.5. Once again Friends Reunited re-enters the album top 5 at No.4. In the singles, the top 4 stays the same again though Corrs songs Angel and Baby be brave swap places. This means that Natasha Bedingfield gets a 3rd week at No.1 and Shapeshifters spend a 3rd week at No.2 after 5 weeks at the top. Girls Aloud climb 5 places to No.5 with Love Machine. The action takes place outside the top 5 as 3 long runners; Zero 7's Somersault, Flip & Fill's Discoland & Special D's Nothing I won't do fall out of the top 10 to make way for The Corrs-Hideaway, Stonebridge-Put 'em high and Mousse T's Is it cos I'm cool!!! Delta falls to No.9 and Anastacia falls another place to No.7. Next week expect some changes as Mousse T and Jessica Simpson are looking for big climbs, but can Natasha fight off the competition for a 4th week, or could Shapeshifters return to No.1?

The Corrs are pushed to No.3 while Hits 59 enters at No.2 following its predecessor in to the runners up position. Interestingly Hits 58 was kept off the top by Borrowed Heaven which is now at No.3. This means that a 3rd week goes to the Bedingfield called Natasha. In the singles The Corrs 'Angel' disappears with 'Perfect Day' by N Bedingfield. Angel City go back in at No.10 with their lyrical take on Children. Silent Movie falls 2 places while These Words sticks for Natasha. Fifth Avenue and Lucie Silvas fall two places respectively to No.7 and No.6 each on their 4th week in the top 10. The top 5 begins with a new entry from the mighty Dannii Minogue with You won't forget about me. Finally New Entries!!! After a lull of a few weeks, action resumes in the charts. In the album chart both Hits 59 and Now Decades plummet out from the top 3. Friends Reunited; the staple of the album chart sticks at No.5 and is now making its way to classic status. Now Years, the follow up to Now Decades goes straight in at a rather low No.4 followed by a top 3 new entry for Ashlee Simpson’s album Autobiography. After a month Natasha Bedingfield gives up her No.1 slot to The Corrs album Borrowed Heaven which returns for a 10th week in control since June, for the plain fact that I saw them in concert 2 days ago and it was nothing short of amazing. In the singles chart the first of three new entries comes from the Shark Tales soundtrack and it’s a welcome return for Christina Aguilera with her cover of the disco classic Car Wash. No.9 this week is the longest runner; These Words from Natasha while her song Wild Horses falls a place to No.8. Robert Miles/Michelle Gayle crossover Angel City moves down 2 places to No.7. Lucie Silvas has a new entry at No.6 with Build Your World Around. Mousse T falls 3 places with former No.1 Is it cos I’m cool while fellow former chart topper Unwritten by Natasha stays at No.4. Into the top 3 with Lucie Silvas-Love you this much one of 2 B-sides from her single and Dannii Minogue moves up to No.2 with her Flower Power duet You Won’t Forger About Me. At No.1 this week Lucie Silvas sticks at the top for a 2nd week with What You’re Made Of. Just outside the top 10 and potentially lethal hits next week are: Eyeopener, numerous songs from The Corrs and Ashlee Simpson and the three songs that left the top 10 this week; Fifth Avenue, Girls Aloud and Natasha Bedingfield.

Its all about Lucie…A record turnover in this weeks singles with 6 of last weeks top 10 leaving including long runners Mousse T and Natasha Bedingfield’s These Words. The top 10 starts with a plummet from the artist owning half of the top 10. Lucie Silvas dips 7 places with B-side ‘Love you this much’. Delta makes her anticipated return at No.9 with another Lucie track debuting at No.8. Natasha Bedingfield’s forthcoming single Unwritten moves down 3 places with The Corrs-Humdrum which first peaked at No.5 in June returning to the top 10. Dannii Minogue falls 3 places with her Flower Power duet. Lucie debuts with 2 more songs at No.4 and No.3 while the highest of the six new or returning songs is The Corrs with their next single Long Night. What you’re made of gives Lucie a third week at the top. This is mirrored in the album chart where she debuts at the top with Breathe in. Last weeks No.1 The Corrs falls to No.2 pushing Natasha down a place as well. Now Years remains at No.4 meaning that Ashlee falls past it and down to No.5 with Autobiography. Hovering outside the top 10 this week are Christina, more Lucie Silvas and Eyeopener.

Hmm…Starting with a thrilling album chart! Ashlee Simpson is knocked out of the album chart with Autobiography meaning that former No.2 Now Decades moves back into the chart. Now Years is the first of 4 non-movers, spending a 3rd week in 4th place. Natasha sticks at No.3, while The Corrs spend a 10 millionth consecutive week in the top 5 with Borrowed Heaven…The UK Delta, Lucie Silvas keeps the top for a second week with Breathe In. She is less lucky in the singles chart…Last Man Standing plummets from No.4 to No.10!!! Christina Aguilera re-enters at No.9 with Shark Tale soundtrack Car Wash. Lucie enters with another album track in 8th place, Forget Me Not. Unwritten remains at No.7 for Tash Bed while Lucie falls from the top 3 with The game is won. Into the top 5 with the first of 2 consecutive Australian soap stars. Dannii Minogue sticks in 5th place with You won’t forget about me, followed by a surge up the chart from the mighty Delta (visit my Delta website at www.geocities.com/gooddelta). The top 3 starts with a belated top 3 peak from The Corrs, Humdrum, which previously peaked a No.5 way back in June. Lucie Silvas dives from the top spot to allow a new No.1, and the fourth from Borrowed Heaven, Long Night. Just outside the top 10 once again was Eyeopener’s Hungry Eyes which sets the record for most weeks at No.11 (4), plus a few songs which have previously been top 10 hits and are lingering around.

Silvas loses grip in singles but keeps hold on albums…In the exciting album chart this week, the top 4 remains the same for a 3rd week, but before that Ashlee Simpson re-enters the listings at No.5 with Autobiography. 4 Weeks at No.4 for Now Years and then into the big 3…The Corrs fall down but remain in the top 3 after almost 6 months!!! Natasha Bedingfield surges back up to No.2 and Lucie Silvas keeps the top, but with new albums such as Delta, Kylie, Clubland 6, Now 59 and Hits 60 coming soon, it doesn’t look like she’ll stay at the top for much longer…In the singles we start with a short drop of 2 places for Lucie Silvas, while after 4 weeks at No.11 Eyeopener climb to the top 10 with Hungry Eyes. Another song from Lucie dips 2 places at No.8 while Natasha Bedingfield remains at No.7 with a total of 8 weeks in the top 10 for Unwritten. Humdrum hums back to No.6 for The Corrs. Into the top 5 with Car Wash from Missy and Christina surging 4 places, while Lucie continues her dip with What You’re made of out of the top 3. Last week’s chart topper moves down 2 places for The Corrs. The top two consists of a former Australian soap star and… a former Australian soap star. Dannii Minogue in her 6th week in the top 5 climbs back up to No.2 which pushes Delta also up 3 places as Out of the blue becomes her 6th No.1!!! Just outside the top 10 this week are Girls Aloud, Candee Jay, Michael Gray and Kylie who are all looking to join the hits next week…

This week…The album chart has a new leader in Ministry Of Sound’s new compilation which goes straight to the top knocking former No.1 Lucie Silvas down to third place as she falls past another former chart topper by Natasha Bedingfield, who remains at No.2.The Corrs fall one more place with Borrowed Heaven which pushes Now Years down to No.5 on its 5th week in the top 5. Into the singles with a fourth week for ‘The game is won’ by Lucie Silvas at No.10, falling 2 places. The first of three new entries is in fact a new remix of a song which spent 4 weeks at the top of my chart back in 2000; Delerium’s Silence returns at No.9. Lucie Silvas’ highest song this week and her debut single falls 4 places to 8th place. Girls Aloud take their Children in Need single to No.7 in its debut week, and just outside the top 5, The Corrs’ Humdrum stays in the same place. Into the top 5 with Alice Deejay’s replacement, Candee Jay entering at No.5. The Corrs fall just a place with former No.1 Long Night, while Natasha Bedingfield’s Unwritten which has now spent 9 weeks in the top 10, the last 3 of those at No.7, climbs back into the top 3. Dannii Minogue continues her successful run with a 7th week in the top 5 and a 3rd week in total at No.2. Another non-mover gives Delta Goodrem a second week at the top of the chart. Just outside the top 10 (at No.11 and No.12) and expected to climb in next week are: Kylie Minogue and Mousse T!!!

The Corrs don’t budge from 4 and Natasha falls one place to No.3. Last week’s new No.1 Ministry of Sound falls 1 place to No.2, and Clubland 6 becomes the 6th Clubland album to top the chart!!! Into the singles with a record 6 new entries; the first 4 of those are at the bottom-Delta Goodrem’s b-side Visualise debuts at No.10. Groove Coverage go straight into 9th place with Poison and Special D makes his 3rd visit to the top 10 this year with Home alone going straight to No.8. Mousse T follows up the No.1 Is it cos I’m cool with Right about now in at No.7. The Corrs former No.1 Long Night dips 2 places to No.6. Into the top 5 with Natasha Bedingfield, on her 10th week in the top 10 falling to No.5 with Unwritten. Kylie Minogue debuts at No.4 with I believe in you from her album Ultimate Kylie. Delta enters at No.3 with another b-side ‘how a dream looks’ co-written with Guy Chambers and Cathy Dennis. No.2 for a 3rd consecutive week, it’s the second Minogue; Dannii with You won’t forget about me. But ruling the chart for a third week its Delta Goodrem with Out of the blue. Corrs are out…After 6 months in the albums top 5, The Corrs ‘Borrowed Heaven’ has been knocked out of the chart along with Lucie Silvas, another former No.1. Ministry Of Sound kicks off the top 5 plummeting 3 places from No.2 to No.5. Natasha Bedingfield remains consistent and only falls one place. Into the top 3, and a dip for last weeks No.1 Clubland 6, this would have stayed at the top if it wasn’t for two very strong forces; Hits and Now. The 3 disc set Hits 60 follows its predecessors to No.2, while the ultimately better Now 59 marches straight in at No.1. Though with albums from Delta and Kylie out next week, don’t expect that to last…The singles top 10 has a mere turnover of 2 this week, one of those being a re-entry. The Corrs slip 4 places with Long Night at No.10, just before the only new entry; another b-side from Delta Goodrem. Talking of Delta, her b-side How a Dream Looks falls 5 places to No.8. Also on the slip is Natasha Bedingfield, whose song Unwritten falls two places to No.7. One of two climbers this week, Groove Coverage climbs just shy of the top 5 with Poison at No.6. Kylie Minogue falls just a place with I Believe in you at No.5, followed by Mousse T who takes his second hit of the year ‘Right About Now’ up 3 places to No.4. No.3 is the woman who just won’t leave; Dannii Minogue spends her 9th consecutive week in the top 5, but falls from her coveted No.2 spot. Children in Need song Girls Aloud leap from last weeks No.17 up to No.2 after previously peaking at No.7, but Delta holds them all off with Out of the blue to gain a month in control. Next week new entries could come from these sources: Uniting Nations, Slinky Minx, Flip & Fill, Band Aid 20 (who are languishing between 11 and 15) or tracks from Delta’s album!!!

Calm down chart…A record breaking chart in many ways today. Firstly in the album chart the combined longevity of the entire top 5 is a mere 9 weeks!!! Now 59 celebrates its second week in the top 5 by plummeting from No.1 to No.5. Clubland 6 and Hits 60 fare less badly falling one place each. Kylie takes her greatest hits collection up to No.2 on its debut…the same place as Light Years, Body Language and Confide in Me albums all peaked!!! But by far and ahead this weeks chart topper is Delta Goodrem’s new album Mistaken Identity. It follows her album Innocent Eyes which spent a huge 42 weeks inside the top 5!!! This album has already spawned 8 top 10 hits out of 14 tracks, and they all enter today bar one. Kylie Minogue begins the epic cull (which has pushed Girls Aloud from No.2 to No.13) by falling 5 places to No.10 with I Believe in you. Delta’s first new entry is called A Little Too Late and goes in at No.9. Before a record top 7 by Delta, Dannii Minogue takes the long running ‘you won’t forget about me’ down to No.8!!! ‘Sanctuary’ starts Delta’s huge glutton of songs and goes in at 7, The Analyst follows at No.6. The top 5 starts with Fragile before last week’s No.1 (also from Delta) falls out of the top 3 to No.4; of course it’s Out of the blue. The very dramatic top 3 starts with Electric Storm, Extraordinary day debuts at No.2 and title track Mistaken Identity flies in at the top…This unprecedented achievement sets three records: Firstly it is the first time that one artist has had control of the top 7 (previous record: whole top 5: Delta Goodrem, December 2003). Secondly an entire top 10 from one country: In this case Australia, and thirdly and perhaps more amusingly: First time the top 10 has come entirely from ex-soap stars!!! Thank you Neighbours & Home & Away!!! It is hard to predict what could possibly happen next week, as I was totally wrong last week, although I did expect that some Delta songs would enter. But expect a new entry from Band Aid 20 and possibly Slinky Minx, or perhaps more new Delta songs…
