Hi There,

Firstly - nice site !

Secondly - Looking at the chart dates that are given for the Australian charts, I notice that top40-charts.com suggests that the latest chart is dated 16-October-2004, while ARIA states that the latest is 18-Oct-2004. Your chart of 16-October-2004 does not match the official one from 18-Oct-2004. Neither does is match the previous official one from 11-Oct-2004.

I have noticed date discrepancies for other international charts on top40-charts too - am I missing something?

Hi Deepheart,
we are trying with the specific dates to have the SAME WEEK for all the charts. Every chart-maker uses its own dates, but on Top40 Charts we use the 'Saturday' or 'Sunday' dates for having reliable results on the World, Airplay and 'Genre' Charts. ;)

Okay - I can understand that you would like to have the "same week date" for all the charts, but using the official Australian charts as an example, if theirs are published on 11-Oct and 18-Oct, while yours has a date of 16-Oct, I assume your chart for "16-Oct" is actually the ARIA "11-Oct-2004"?

Would it be better (and possibly cause less confusion) if you used "Week Number" instead of a date that perhaps falls between the two official releases?

yes, you are absoloutely correct. But... but, we discover this kind of problem (and some others :D) after the design and implemantation of our SQL database. It will be a mess if we'll try to change it - so, our Top40ers knows after two or three weeks which exactly week to search for their country charts.
