For the forth consecutive week U2 are in chart in Canada with the same single in 2 different position... Is it an error???

No, see the thread "This is kinda interesting", started by ste on the United Kingdom board. Apparently the 2 different forms of the single are somehow permitted to chart independently - the MAXI one place ahead of the CD single, weird.

Just Oskatat said, this is not an error. It is TWO different version only for the North American market: the known version to everybody (Radio edit) and another similar to 12" version (dance remix, bigger track time etc). In USA, and Billboard this is ONE song, for the Canadians are two different songs - and this is a peculiar shape of canadian market.
Usually these versions are releasing as 'one' at Europe because the buying consumers group is very small (low sales) to buy two different of them.

The same phenomenon reappeared... The U2 - Canada connection is truly bizarre.
U2 has the number 3 with "All Because Of You" on the Canadian chart, the number 6 with "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own", number 7 with "Vertigo" and another "Vertigo" at 12!

Is there a way to indicate which one is the maxi and which is the CD single?

From this week there are 2 version of "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" too... as for "Vertigo"...
But while for "Vertigo" the difference was the Maxi Single and Single for "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" the difference is in the record label according to the official Canadian Chart web site... at #1 there is the just realised edition from Island while at #8 there is the edition from USI.
So this week in top 10 there are 5 singles from U2!

Yes, this is true: Canadians are always buying/collecting diferent versions of the same song/single. Who forgets the multiple versions of Elton John, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins and even Shakira.
