I had bought last week as my 'holiday' present (by parents) this one:
iRiver H340 40 GB Digital Music Player with Color Display

It has 40GB, it is conected to my PC with Ultra-fast USB 2.0 and it supports secure transfers from Windows Media Player. The battery lasts up to 16hrs and also it has 'viewer' for photos (JPEG/ BMP images on color display).
I bought it 446 $, but now I see in Amazon the price has fallen! I am very satsfied, is very easy to use and even my dad use it! :-)

I use the Apple 40 GB iPod (photo)
It costs 499$ and includes:
40 GB model holds up to 10,000 songs; supports MP3 (32 to 320 Kbps), and WAV
Up to 15 hours battery life when fully charged (which typically takes 5 hours); fast-charge in as little as 3 hours
USB 2.0 interface for fastest digital transfer available

I have not found any problem except that do not support Windows Media format. But who cares, I am having store all my MP3 files and goes perfect!

I am owner of an Apple 20 GB iPod from HP (MP102)

The price is $299.87 and you can find the machine at

Music storage capacity: 5,000 songs
USB 2.0
Music file type: AAC, MP3, WAV, AIFF, Apple Lossless and Audible formats
Charge time: 4 hours (2-hour fast charge to 80% capacity)
It works fine for me and 20GB I think are good for capacity. I have store all my MP3 song library which is including until now 1,200 tracks.
