Analysis
Some extraordinary changes this week…In the album chart most notably we have a new number one as after 7 weeks, Ultimate Kylie finally topples Delta from the top. Elsewhere in the chart ‘The best club anthems 2005’ is new and The Corrs go back in at No.10. Girls Aloud and Mariah both fall two places out of the top 3 and Natasha Bedingfield climbs back up to No.6 with Unwritten. 3 other compilations continue to float around with Clubland 6 finally leaving the top 5!!! The singles chart has 2 low new entries and one very high re-entry!!! 90’s Dance act Motiv 8 return with a new song and go in at No.20, while the simply amazing but very rare Made of glass by Kylie debuts at No.18, though it is expected to rise next week. Delta falls one place to No.17 with the longest runner Out of the blue, while long runner Slinky Minx look poised to leave us next week. A number of Girls Aloud songs climb & fall along with Brian & Delta’s Almost here which falls to No.13. In the top 10 Angel City score their 3rd top 10 hit out of 4 releases with Sunrise, Lovefreekz fall from No.2 to No.7 being replaced by Uniting Nations amazingly climbing from No.25 to No.2 this week on its 8th week in the top 50. Kylie climbs into the top 5 with Giving you up and four Delta songs remain static at No.1, 3, 4 and 6 with Extraordinary Day gaining a 6th week at No.1; the longest consecutive stay at the top since another Delta song Not Me, Not I at the end of 2003!!!
