Analysis
The year of the yo-yo...Some up & down action this week on all charts. Starting with the singles chart Lucie Silvas has a new entry, a re-entry and a huge climb of 11 to No.6 for Breathe In. Annie and Atomic Kitten also make their debuts, though the original ‘Cradle’ peaked at No.6 in 2001. Delta’s Disorientated improves on its peak by one place, while Almost Here continues its jump in and out of the top 10 down to No.12. The Corrs take another song from Borrowed Heaven into the singles top 10, while the other notable climb comes from Uniting Nations who have jumped from 25 to 2 down to 7 and back up to 2 in the last month and helps it to become the 4th week in a row where the No.2 record has climbed there from outside the top 5 the previous week (Lovefreekz-30-2, Uniting Nations-25-2; 7-2, Kylie-18-2). Delta keeps a strong grip with an 8th week at No.1, while Mistaken Identity also makes its way back into the top 3!!! The album chart also sees Delta at the top while Lucie Silvas jumps back to No.2 with her former No.1 album Breathe In. An 80s/90s compilation completes the top 3 pushing Ultimate Kylie and Mariah’s Greatest Hits out of the top 3. Elsewhere Girls Aloud & Natasha Bedingfield both drop 3 places respectively while the only other new entry comes from a German compilation Platin at No.10. In the DVD chart there is some movement at last with Texas rising to No.1 edging Kylie to No.2 after 8 weeks while Delta’s long runner Innocent Eyes re-enters at No.3 with Atomic Kitten back in at No.5 while Xtina is sandwiched between them at No.4!!!
