MTV and Other Cable Television Music Charts

You have now added MuchMusic the Canadian music cable television, which is great and gives an altogether different picture of what youth listen to (or in their case watch) as compared to the oifficial Canadian charts.

Yet you still don't have any MTV-based charts although there are MTV stations almost everywhere now and of course thet all have their own unique and specialized charts.

Are there publications rights issues and is there anything deterring you from not publishing them or are these charts publicly available for everybody to reprint?

Are there any plans to include such charts from MTV and the like in the future that are more based on appeal of videos rather than just actual record sales?

Is publishing MuchMusic chart a precedent of future things to come?

Probably the difference is that the charts from MTV America are very similar to the charts from Billboard published for the music genres and for US top 40.
While Match Music usually discovers new artist. Probably this is the difference.

If you consider Mtv Europe there is already here a chart from Europe.

Probably the only interesting chart missing here from Mtv could be the "Hit List Asia" which includes countries from South East Asia not yet included on this website... but there are still many charts to update and it's an hard work... so I don't know how possible will be to add new charts in the next months...

For the moment I've seen that there are also may problems with the songs pages... that are not updated at the same time of the charts page... and sometimes will be never updated and I've seen that many datas have been lost... for example charts positions that don't appear in the songs page...just to take an example... or songs entered in charts in the last 2 weeks and not presented in the artist database... etc...

If you love MuchMusic charts, you must also give equal attention to its French version. The MuchMusic cable station has MusiquePlus giving the French version of the same and also full with new trends not only from Quebec, the French province, but from all over Canada.
