NEW YORK, NY- Hamptons Entertainment Group CEO Ray Los is proud to announce the signing of West Virginia’s hottest rock band DOWNSTATE! The band has signed a deal with Hamptons Entertainment Group, the world's largest independent talent agency! DOWNSTATE has signed onto the TRUE SOUND MANAGEMENT roster, gaining a personal manager to guide their career, and will also receive promotion, marketing, publicity and booking services through it's sister label, Paradise Publicity. What started as an excuse to play music and party with friends turned into something no one could imagine. Formed in the summer of 2001, these five friends have been writing and performing since the beginning. In 2002 barely together for a year, they found themselves on the second stage at a concert that featured acts such as Hatebreed, Flaw, Clutch, SR-71, Noise Therapy and 3rd Strike. Downstate has also shared the stage with national acts such as RA, Soil, Double Drive, Type O Negative, Slaves on Dope, Lacuna Coil and ShineDown.
With a date set for the band’s debut album, Downstate will follow the release with a 50 city tour throughout the Eastern U.S. later in the year and a full blown 50 state, 100 city tour in 2006.
After 1 year out of the national spotlight due to "band issues", West Virginia based hard rockers DOWNSTATE re-entered the scene Tuesday,August 9th with an explosive sophomore single release. The single "FEAR", taken from the forth coming debut album, debuted at #8,495 on the Soundclick.com internet rock charts and #2,300 on the "rock general" charts. Less than 24 hours later, the single climbed 6,195 spots in the "rock charts" and 2,044 spots in the "rock general" charts!
"It's amazing" says Downstate's manager Ray Los. "You expect things to go well and hopefully make some noise fresh out the gate. All we did was post a blog that the new single was up on the band's music page and wham!...the news spread like wildfire! With the new single out to both FM and internet radio, and the debut album set for a Sept 2nd release, Downstate is setting their sites on the new year ahead and one thing in mind….GRAMMY.
