The Swedish music market seems to have experienced a boost in the industry, as it's been hugely successful in exporting the Swedish "music" (courtesy of Roxette, A-Teens, Cardigans etc, but above all as music&lyrics writers to Westlife, Britney Spears et al.).

I read somewhere that the market for Swedish produced / manufactured tracks is only second to the car export - much like during the era of ABBA.

Unfortunately the domestic market, therefore, believed the actual tracks were good - or even near the quality of ABBA - and have since bought much anything the Swedish so-called bands released for a couple of years now.

That unfortunately brought such cack as "Vilse i skogen" to the top, as currently...

Utterly forgettable, and very sad.

Nobody "at home" realised that "The Look", "Mamma Mia", "Cotton Eye Joe" were actually very catchy, and that half - if not more - the people who bought the music abroad didn't have a clue (or cared) where it came from.

My wish for 2004; let greatness once again rule the charts!

Less of bubblegum mass-produced cack, purleeze!
