Music Industry Joins Forces Interpreting Peter Gabriel Live
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ LaFamos Press) A large ensemble of world class singers, expansive rhythm section, backing vocalists, and horns with credits from Beck to De La Soul to David Bowie to Foster The People to Dwight Yoakam to Frank Ocean to Sting to Neon Trees to Lucinda Williams to Fiona Apple get together to perform unique arrangements of select songs from Peter Gabriel's first six solo records. They do it for the fun of performing and exploring complex catalogues of global artists together then give all proceeds to charity.

The Interpreting Music Series grew naturally after a few Los Angeles venues contacted producer/guitarist Scrote to perform. Instead of taking the night for his own work, Scrote decided to call a few of his musician friends to explore various catalogues by innovative, trend smashing global artists. These performances weren't to be tributes but rather approaching the material in the matter it was born by pushing the envelope of the material chosen.

First there was an 11-piece band performing the Talking Head's most critically acclaimed album "Remain In Light" in it's entirety. Then another similarly large group turned a collection of songs from David Bowie's Berlin trilogy albums (Low, Lodger, & Heroes) into a nonstop 90" set of songs stitched together by cued improvisations. Founding member & current drummer for Sly & The Family Stone, Greg Errico who also played with Weather Report, produced Betty Davis, and toured with David Bowie was flown in to anchor that sold-out show. Next was a parade of eclectic versions of Burt Bacharach hits from bombast to beautiful including the song 'Close To You' played and sung backwards, Angelo Moore of Fishbone leading a wild version of 'What's New Pussycat?', Arnold McCuller's tearing up the Isaac Hays' version of 'Walk On By', Carina Round of Puscifer tearing down the house w/a rockin' rendition of 'Baby It's You', and 2013 Latin Grammy Best New Artist, Gaby Moreno singing James Brown's super funky version of 'Any Day Now'. Other shows followed like Interpreting Annie Lennox, Interpreting Fela Kuti, Interpreting Bee Gees '67-'76, and the giant end of the year blowout Interpreting The Holidays 2013, which featured four different ensembles of fourteen or more players performing four different catalogues back to back over the course of 6 straight hours. Other special guests followed like the MC5's Wayne Kramer, Chris Stills, Joe Sumner, and actor Gary Oldman.

You see this isn't an ordinary group of musicians re-inventing these catalogues. These are some of the most sought after singers & players in the world coming together for the fun of performing and being together. To keep their musical intentions pure, they decided to give all proceeds away to various charities. Credits for this All-Star collective range from Beck to David Bowie to De La Soul to The Tonight Show to Foster The People to Sting to Sheryl Crow to The Jimmy Kimmel Show to Neon Trees to Lucinda Williams to Macy Gray to Paul McCartney to Damien Rice to Seal to American Idol to Dr Dre to Daniel Johnston and so on and so forth. Having just one of these performers playing in a local venue is newsworthy but when you get a dozen or more of them together to play challenging music for the love it, it's a very unique soul fulfilling experience on and off stage.
