Just when you think all is lost, dark spells and shadows closing in, this Indie Pop gem rushes in with a melodic beat, insanely catchy chorus and lyrical imagery to boot. Fitting in nicely with the other dance tunes off Adaptations, one listen to "
Rescue" will stay with you all day long.
Now living in New York City, Roy and his band have released the single, "Way Down Below" and its music video, which premiered on PureVolume and was featured on Earmilk. The band has also released their sophomore single "She's A Devil". PopMatters premiered the music video, which tells a seductive tale of mischief and mayhem.
About
Roy worked with several industry greats in writing and producing Adaptations. Weighting down the album's buoyancy a notch to pure seductiveness, "Way Down Below" is the product of playing around on bass at 3 a.m. with Teddy Geiger. Justin Glasco (Cary Brothers) produced several songs on the album, offering a perfect balance to the Pop equation with his more organic approach to the ballads. Most of the album was recorded at producer
David Hodges' (Kelly Clarkson,
Christina Perri, Evanescence, and Daughtry) house in L.A. Hodges co-wrote hard-driving, electric single "Champagne and Fire", which takes listeners on a journey that could either end with a sunrise or the police. This album is for the "midnight survivors", those partial to exploring their surroundings, living in the moment, and not taking life too seriously
