British Psychedelic Rock Group Emerges With New Album, New Sound
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ dGenerate Records) The new album from British psychedelic rock band Babal (formerly known as Babble) will be released this fall, dGenerate Records announced today. Tentatively titled "Lockstep," the album is scheduled for release October 28. The album is more than just another release for the band and producer Michael Jones, who also owns the record label. On it, Babal, led by Rob Williams and Karen Langley, takes its first foray into darker musical territory, a journey marshaled by Jones, tension notwithstanding.

"Babal's known for their broad, roaming soundscapes, but for this album, I asked them to switch-up their songwriting process," Jones explained. "Then I asked Karen to play with some different vocal styles and Rob to experiment with his compositions. I had a hunch that if I changed up enough, something very unique would brew, but I also know the potential for disaster and hurt feelings. Karen and Rob were great sports, though I'm sure they thought I was a bit nuts, and they emerged with their most affecting material yet. It's a stunning transformation.

The group's new sound on this album is a dark departure from their earlier work. "I think it's a natural progression in their sound, so Babal fans won't be disappointed," Jones added.

Often referred to as an art band because of their mix of music, visual and performance art, Babal first emerged on Britain's rock scene with their album "Shape of the Flux" in 2012 and their 2013 follow-up "Bread and Circuses." The band performs regularly throughout the UK, with their next show September 6 at On Board The Craft in Bromsgrove, UK.
