The Gallery Players Announces The Acclaimed Rock Musical 'Next To Normal'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Michael Martinez PR) Gallery rocks Brooklyn once again as it kicks off Season 48 with the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Next to Normal. Written by If/Then collaborators Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, this groundbreaking rock musical tells the story of a mother struggling with bipolar disorder, and the effect it has on her family. The production features an exceptional cast lead by Carman Napier* and Gallery alum Chris Caron*. Filling out the cast are Lindsay Bayer, Luke Hoback*, Benjamin Sheff and John Wascavage*. Next To Normal will open on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 8pm and run through October 5, 2014.

The show is produced by Gallery President Mark Harborth, directed by Michael Bello, with Choreography by Courtney Laine Self, Sets by Anne Sherer, Lighting by Scott Andrew Cally, Costumes by Heather Carey, Props by Sara Slagle, Sound by Jacob Subotnick, and Musical Direction by Samuel Shull.

Next To Normal opens Saturday evening, September 13th , and runs through Sunday, October 5th , 2014. Performances will be held Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm and Sunday afternoons at 3:00 pm. There will be a Saturday 2:00 pm performance on September 27th and October 4th. Tickets are $18 for Adults and $14 for senior citizens, students, and children 12 and under. The Gallery Players is located at 199 14th Street, between 4th and 5th Avenues, in Park Slope, Brooklyn.

Tom Kitt (Music) Tom received the 2010 Pulitzer for Drama as well as two Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Orchestrations for Next To Normal. In addition, his work on Next To Normal received the Frederick Loewe Award and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best New Score. Tom is responsible for the music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations for Green Day's American Idiot on Broadway, and provided additional arrangements for their studio albums, 21st Cenury Breakdown and "Uno!," "Dos!" and "Tre!" As a composer, credits include the Broadway shows, High Fidelity and Bring It On: The Musical; The Winter's Tale and All's Well That Ends Well (The Public's NYSF). As an arranger, conductor, and musical director, other credits include Pitch Perfect, Everyday Rapture, 13, Laugh Whore, and Debbie Does Dallas.

Brian Yorkey (Book and Lyrics) Broadway: Next To Normal (Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Tony Award, Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Score); The Last Ship, with Sting and John Logan, coming to Broadway in the fall of 2014. Other theatre credits: Making Tracks (Off-Broadway, regional, international), the musical adaptation of Ang Lee's The Wedding Banquet, and the country musical Play It By Heart. Brian has directed Off-Broadway and regionally and for seven years was Associate Artistic Director at Village Theatre in Washington State, one of the nation's leading producers of new musicals. He's a graduate of Columbia University, where he was Artistic Director of the Varsity Show, an alum of the BMI/Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop and a proud member of the Dramatists Guild and the WGA.
