Hold On To Summer With 'In The Summertime' EP From Judith Owen
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Judith Owen isn't letting summer go just yet, defiantly releasing her EP 'In The Summertime' on August 25. The title track, a re-imagination of the Mungo Jerry hit transformed by Judith's seductively smooth voice and delicious harmonies, will air in 5,000 theaters across the country through September 25 as part of Cinema Sound's pre-show music programming.

Judith also recently released a new music video for "In the Summertime" that pays homage to the 8mm vacation films of the 60s/70s and enlists Mungo's Ray Dorsett to cameo at the end with an acoustic verse

This EP announcement comes fresh off Judith's recent national tour supporting her full-length album 'Ebb & Flow'. Each night Judith and recent Bass Player cover star Leland Sklar delivered silky smooth summer covers mid-set which sparked the idea of a summer-themed EP.

On 'In the Summertime', Judith collects five summertime classics and re-envisions them through her mantra: 'What Would Joni Do?' She turns David Dundas' "Blue Jeans" from a funky four-on-the-floor to a dark swing enchantment and changes the puppy-love 'Grease' tune "Summer Loving" into a ghostly look at a brief relationship with a devastating impact. A loyal rendition of Carole King's "It Might As Well Rain Until September" and a soul-bearing interpretation of Seal & Crofts' "Summer Breeze" round out the release.

'In The Summertime' Tracklisting:
1. In The Summertime (Original artist: Mungo Jerry)
2. Blue Jeans (Original artist: David Dunas)
3. Summer Nights (Originally artist: 'Grease' cast)
4. It Might As Well Rain Until September (Original artist: Carole King)
5. Summer Breeze (Original artist: Seals & Crofts)

Judith's songwriting has earned her praise as a "true troubadour" by the LA Times and "an heir of [Joni] Mitchell" by the NY Times.
