New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Lonesome River Band will debut their new album, Turn On a Dime from Mountain Home
Music Company, this week at the International Bluegrass
Music Association's World of Bluegrass in Raleigh, NC. The band will perform at their Pre-CD Release Party taking place Wednesday, October 1 at the Architect and Social House located at 108 ½ East Hargett St. beginning at 11:00 PM.
On Thursday, October 2, Lonesome River Band will appear at the Youth Council Band Drop In at the Raleigh Convention Center. The youth will have an opportunity to ask the band about their careers and also jam with Lonesome River Band. Founded in 2012, the IBMA Youth Council (YC) is comprised of dedicated youth active in the bluegrass community. "The goal is to get kids interested and involved in the bluegrass community," says council chairperson Andy Rigney. The YC strives to provide an outlet and direction for an up-and-coming generation of bluegrass and roots musicians and budding industry professionals.
Fans can see Lonesome River Band on the main stage of the Red Hat Amphitheater, Friday, October 3 at 2:15 p.m. as part of the IBMA Wide Open Bluegrass Festival. Lonesome River Band is led by Sammy Shelor, a nominee for this year's IBMA Banjo Player of the Year Award who is a 5-time Award winner in that category. He is joined by the outstanding talents of
Brandon Rickman (guitar & lead vocals), Mike Hartgrove (Fiddle), Randy Jones (mandolin & lead vocals), and Barry Reed on Bass. Reed will participate in the IBMA Bass Workshop at 4:00 pm in the Convention Center at the Workshop Stage on Friday, October 3 at 4:00 p.m.
