Invent, Animate Join This Year's South By So What?! Festival
Port Neches, TX (Top40 Charts/ Tragic Hero Records) he second batch of bands have been revealed for the eighth annual SOUTH BY SO WHAT?! music festival, which will be held at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, TX. Tragic Hero Records metalcore band Invent, Animate will join over 100 bands from 3/20 - 3/22/15 for the event. Some of the other bands that have been announced are Motionless in White, Atreyu, We Came As Romans, and Invent, Animate's fellow label-mates He Is Legend. More announcements coming 11/1, 12/2, and 12/15.

Invent, Animate recently released their debut album Everchanger via Tragic Hero Records. The skull-crushing ten song record was produced by Brian Hood (Gideon, Being As An Ocean) and ERRA guitarist/vocalist Jesse Cash. Debuting at no. 4 on the iTunes Metal chart, the quintet's offering is also available on Amazon, Spotify, and all other digital storefronts.

The SOUTH BY SO WHAT?! music festival was established in 2008 as an opportunity for Dallas residents to catch 50+ of the bands headed to SXSW for one low ticket price. The event is a mix of many genres including Metal, Rock, Pop, Indie Rock, Hip-Hop, and Electronic.

About Invent, Animate:

"With so much metalcore out these days, the best thing to do is be fresh. Invent, Animate does this," says music critic Mike Bohn who reviewed the band's first EP Waves. "They do a lot more than other bands out there and they do it well."

Creating an idea and bringing it to life is what inspired the progressive metalcore band Invent, Animate to pursue their passion for spreading positive messages through their music. The group was formed on the cloudy Christmas Eve of 2011 in a small town east of Houston called Port Neches, Texas. Ben English (vocals), Logan Forrest (guitar), Keaton Goldwire (guitar), Caleb Sherraden (bass), and Trey Celaya (drums) came together through their mutual love of bands like Deftones, Underoath, and Norma Jean. They are heavily influenced by what these bands have to say and the way they carry themselves as musicians.

Invent, Animate are a highly energetic band that puts an unsullied look on the metalcore market. Their work is multi-dimensional and shows their ability to be very dynamic. Never fearful to be chaotic and crazy one minute, but then decelerate and bring a softer, more beautiful aspect the next. "We're not afraid to slow it down, experiment with different vocal styles, and maybe even sing in a few parts," says vocalist Ben English. In addition to performing at the South By So What?! festival, the group has shared the stages with Oh, Sleeper, Of Mice & Men, and Architects.

Invent, Animate recently signed with Tragic Hero Records to release their debut full-length Everchanger on 8/26/14. "It's still so surreal to me," says English. "Growing up, some of my favorite bands were a part of Tragic Hero, and I'm super excited to be a part of the family. The record that we've been pouring ourselves into for months is really going to be unlike anything we've done before. We're branching out and doing things that we've never done, and the outcome is really sounding incredible and we're super excited for everyone to hear it."
