LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Singer/songwriter Rolan Bolan (https://theofficialrolanbolan.com/) - son of the late T-Rex frontman and glam-rock legend Marc Bolan and singer and Grammy-nominated Motown songwriter Gloria Jones - picked up a 2014 Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) nomination for his rendition of the song "Children of the Revolution." The song, originally written and recorded by his father, was released in 1972.

Rolan and other nominees will be honored at the award show held at the Fonda Theater in Hollywood on November 4, 2014. The HMMAs honor music from visual mediums, individuals who create and produce it, and both mainstream and independent musicians from around the world.

In 2013, Rolan won an HMMA in the Alternative category for his single "Trust."
In other news, the emerging artist recently inked a deal with new London-based label EC3 Records, headed up by veteran rock producer Dito Godwin. The multi-platinum producer's resume includes sessions with an enviable slate of artists: No Doubt; Motley Crue; KISS members Ace Frehley and Peter Criss; Jack Russell and Great White; late Warrant frontman Jani Lane; and country music legend Charley Pride.

Slated to release his debut album worldwide and tour in the U.K. later this year, Rolan is the third artist to be signed to Godwin's label.

Rolan, who thinks Interview Magazine was spot on when they described his "laid back with a kick" vibe as "Pina Colada Gasoline," previously released several singles to iTunes in recent months, including "Should I Forget To Mention," "Once In My Life", "Up To Me," and "Trust" which won a Hollywood Music In Media Award (HMMA) for best Alternative Song. There are also YouTube videos available of earlier tracks Rolan recorded, including "Fire In The City" and "Missing Me."

Rolan formed and fronted his first band, The Brothers Bounce, in 1998 with friends from Loyola Marymount University. The group, which toured the U.K. and France, included members of the Black Eyed Peas' first backing band. The singer later toured as a duo with Kyle Mullarkey of the band The Shore.
