AENY - Spanish Artists In New York Presents Play Loud! Music Festival
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Directed by Guillermo Laporta, PLAY LOUD! 2014 is set to launch at the Instituto Cervantes headquarters in New York City from November 4th to November 7th 2014, featuring a well-balanced program of ensembles and performers, exploring the intersections between music and story in their own particular way.

Participants this year include the multidisciplinary chamber music ensemble Cre.Art Project; the virtuoso ensemble Bohemian Trio; the contemporary ensemble dedicated to innovative musical performance Argento Chamber Ensemble; and the bandoneoist and composer virtuoso JP Jofre.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Cre.Art Project
Tuesday November 4th, 2014 - 7pm at Instituto Cervantes NYC
Founded in 2006 in Spain by musicians Guillermo Laporta and Tagore Gonzalez, and the subsequent joining of set designer David Orrico, Cre.Art Project operates under the idea of multidisciplinary interaction. The collective aims to produce shows that connect chamber music with theatre, dance, and the audiovisual to evoke a total sensory experience.

Bohemian Trio
Wednesday November 5th, 2014 - 7pm at Instituto Cervantes NYC
Formed in 2013 the genre-defying Bohemian Trio is a contemporary music ensemble based in New York City. Its founding members Yosvany Terry, saxophone & chékere, Yves Dharamraj, cello and Orlando Alonso, piano, are in-demand performers as well as accomplished composers. With unique instrumentation and emphasis on improvisation, the trio's focus is to premiere new musical works from a broad range of genres: classical, Afro-Cuban, Tango, Rock, Jazz & Electronic.

Argento Chamber Ensemble
Thursday November 6th, 2014 - 7PM at Instituto Cervantes NYC
Argento is New York City's virtuoso ensemble dedicated to innovative musical performance and discovery of daring artistic paths. Championing cutting-edge contemporary composers, as well as framing classical repertoire in new contexts, Argento inspires the public's musical inquiry through education, mentorship, technology, and dialogue. Founded in 2000, Argento consists of 9 core members and regularly expands to up to 30 musicians. Argento's international reputation is the result of its strong history as a chamber ensemble, the technically demanding work it performs across the world, and its commitment to intellectually rigorous interpretation.

JP Jofre Hard Tango Chamber Band
Friday November 7th, 2013 - 7pm at Instituto Cervantes NYC
Argentine composer - bandoneón player virtuoso JP Jofre has been hailed as one of today's leading artists by Lincoln Center and praised by The New York Times for his soulful, artful playing. He has performed with the legendary, 11-time Grammy winner Paquito D'Rivera as well as some of the most celebrated musicians throughout the world. Mr. Jofre has headlined sold out concerts —and received standing ovations—at the prestigious Celebrity Series of Boston at the NEC's Jordan Hall and Great Performers at Lincoln Center. He has taken his exciting contemporary tango to some of the most important venues and festivals worldwide, including the Taiwan National Theatre and Italy's Umbria Jazz Festival.

AENY - Spanish Artists in New York
AENY - Spanish Artists in New York - is a non-profit organization which was established in the fall of 2010 to promote inter-disciplinary artistic collaborations and build a cultural bridge between Spain and the United States.

AENY, Spanish acronym for "Spanish Artists in New York", is a multidisciplinary collective of artists joined not only by their common heritage, but also their mission: to produce cutting-edge, inter-disciplinary contemporary work that reflects the needs, longings and uncertainty of the cross-cultural society in which we live. Thus, AENY aims to bring together Spanish artists in all disciplines to examine the overlaps, collisions, similarities and differences between Spain's tradition and modern New York culture, and to create a mutually enriching artistic dialog between the two countries.

Instituto Cervantes New York
Instituto Cervantes is a non-for-profit organization created by the Spanish government in 1991. Its mission is to promote the Spanish language and to contribute to the advancement of the cultures of all Spanish speaking countries and communities. Instituto Cervantes is present on five continents with more than 50 centers spread out across many different countries.

The work of Instituto Cervantes is directed by representatives from the academic, cultural and literary world within the field of Spanish and Hispanic-America. In New york, the Institute collaborates with museums, galleries, theaters, publishing houses and other cultural institutions, as well as Spanish and Latin-American organizations.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL DIRECTOR, GUILLERMO LAPORTA
Guillermo Laporta studied at the Royal College of Music of London and along his career as a musician has performed a broad repertoire of symphonic, opera and chamber works, sharing the stage in Spain, Portugal, France, United Kingdom and Switzerland with renowned musicians such as Sir. Roger Norrington, Andrew Litton, Pablo González, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Truls Mørk, Natalia Gutman, Labèque Sisters, Ainhoa Arteta, Jiri Barta or Heinrich Schiff, recordings for RTVE (Spanish Radio Television) or the BBC. Since 2006, Guillermo has been co-directing together with Tagore Gonzalez for the performing arts group Cre.Art Project.

TICKET INFORMATION
Single tickets are $20 for each the performances. Tickets for students are $15. Tickets for affiliated artists from AENY & Instituto Cervantes Members are $10.

Subscription pass for the festival gives access to the four concerts and saves 50% over the regular price of the tickets. Subscription Passes are $40.
