New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Winner of the alt-country Album of the Year at the 2014 Australian Country
Music Awards, Lachlan Bryan & The Wildes are releasing
Black Coffee in the U.S.
"Black Coffee transcends expectations and sets the new standard in roots and Americana music in Australia. We knew it was going to be good, but this is an exceptional album." - Adam Simon, Rolling Stone
Black Coffee, the new album from Australian songwriter Lachlan Bryan and his band The Wildes, has garnered glowing reviews, packed houses, and a slew of awards and nominations in Bryan's homeland this year.
Lachlan Bryan's heart is steeped in the drama and imagery of country, roots, and Americana music. A songwriter with true authenticity, Lachlan's songs are draped with dark characters, back stories, and sub plots flavored with dustbowl balladry, old school country, and nu-folk undertones. Together with his band The Wildes, Lachlan has built a genre-defying catalog beginning with 2009's Ballad of a Young Married Man.
Lachlan Bryan and The Wildes' most recent release,
Black Coffee, was awarded this year's Golden Guitar for Best Alternative Country Album at the 2014 Country
Music Awards of Australia. The award followed a six week unbroken run in the Australian Record
Industry Association Charts and coincided with packed-out album launches around the country.
Lachlan and the band have appeared at all the major country and roots festivals across Australia from Bluesfest Byron Bay to The Gympie Muster, CMC Rocks the Hunter, The Gum Ball, Apollo Bay
Music Festival, and Sydney Blues Festival, just to name a few. In recent years Bryan has also performed solo in Australia with the likes of Steve Earle, John Hiatt, Shawn Colvin, and even
Everlast - as well as embarking on a twenty-three state tour of the USA.
Lachlan Bryan's three albums have received unanimous critical acclaim, five-star reviews, and found their way on to 'best of' lists in each of their respective release years, whilst the band's live show has been described as something akin to "Nick Cave fronting Steve Earle's band The Dukes" (Jason Walker, author of "Gram Parsons: God's Own Singer").
Black Coffee features the full band plus special guests
Melody Pool and Bill Chambers, and is available now through WJO Distribution. In February 2014, Lachlan signed a worldwide deal with ABC
Music Publishing (BMG, Chrysalis in the USA).
