New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Although relatively new to the business, singer/songwriter ILONA has already crammed an enormous amount into the last 3 years. She has played over 200 shows, everything from busking on the streets to festival stages. She has done countless live radio sessions, media interviews and promo tours and has been described as having a voice that's like a blend of all the great singers of the last 30 years by producer Graham Robertson from the BBC.
With appearances at the acclaimed music festival SXSW in Austin, gigs in LA and New York, Worldwide Webcasts from Norway and intimate acoustic shows in France as well as regular shows in London and around the UK, ILONA has been working hard on the thing she loves most, making and performing music.
Now she is about to embark on a new adventure as the countdown begins for the release of her first Christmas single, CHRISTMAS MAGIC on December 7th
The song reflects the Universal feeling that "the most important gift at Christmas is to be with the people you love and care for most in life."
Working with Writer/Manager/Producer Tony Moore (ex Iron Maiden, Cutting Crew and promoter of The
Kashmir Klub/The Bedford) they set out to make a record whose arrangement and production would be uplifting and fun as well as paying tribute to some of the iconic Xmas hits from over the years.
Mixing an infectious rhythm with an eclectic mix of guest musicians and her regular band, the end result is a joyous musical celebration of all that is magical about Christmas.
One important element was to have a young guest singer perform at the end of song and, after a chance encounter, ILONA was introduced to 10 year old Barabara Rotenberg who made her debut in the recording studio to sing the melodic "answer" vocals as Christmas Magic grows to a climax.
Pre-release reaction has been strong with UK Offee chain Caffe Nero already adding it to their Christmas playlist to be heard in excess of 600 stores around the United Kingdom as well as in their over seas outlets.
