BBC Introducing Presents... Volume 1
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) 'BBC Introducing Presents... Volume 1' is a double compilation album celebrating the biggest success stories from the award winning BBC Introducing platform. Released on the March 16th, all of the tracks on the album were recorded live at BBC Introducing events around the UK, such as Maida Vale sessions and Introducing festival stages.

Acts featured were all given a boost from the platform including Bombay Bicycle Club, Rizzle Kicks, Twin Atlantic, Nina Nesbitt and Jake Bugg, as well as some of the most exciting new and emerging acts in the UK today, including Catfish and the Bottlemen and James Bay.
Jake Bugg:"I uploaded my songs to BBC Introducing and within a few days Dean Jackson from the Beat in Nottingham played my songs and invited me in for a session. BBC Introducing is a great way for unsigned artists to get their music heard."

Twin Atlantic:"Without the help of BBC Introducing our band would have really struggled to get over the first hurdles or challenges created in the music industry. It gave us a platform so that people took our music seriously. Such a great support for new artists, exposing you to your first national radio plays through to festival slots and even TV coverage. Not many initiatives can say that they have helped to do that."

JUCE: "BBC Introducing is incredible, it gives a brilliant platform to connect artists into Radio 1 and the BBC. When we uploaded our song to BBC Introducing we were unsigned and the exposure helped raise our profile at the start of our career. Our song 'Call You Out' was added to the BBC Introducing Playlist, a month later we were invited to play on their stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend, our first festival experience."

Prides:"BBC Introducing have really championed us from the start, from early plays on regional shows all the way through to us headlining the BBC Introducing stage at Reading & Leeds this year. We certainly wouldn't be where we are without that sort of belief, and as a new band, that support really does mean everything."

Everything Everything:"Back in 2009, when we were ready to graduate to bigger festival stages, BBC Introducing was there to give us the opportunity. We played Reading and Leeds, and signed our first album deal three months later. When we started touring abroad we became more keenly aware of how unique the BBC is as a publicly funded institution, and how it is greatly admired the world over for taking its responsibility to new, emerging artists so seriously. There's nothing else like it and we and countless others are extremely lucky to have benefitted from its support."

White Lies:"The success we have achieved with White Lies owes a huge amount to the 12 months prior to the release of our debut album. We practised relentlessly, demoed furiously, toured constantly, and this helped form the bedrock of our fan base. BBC Introducing were vital in helping us get our music out there in those very early stages. They supported and championed us from the start and played no small part in helping us grow that fan base both in the UK and abroad. We'd like to tip our hats to the DJs who played our music, the engineers who recorded the sessions and everyone behind the scenes."
With over 500,000 tracks uploaded to the BBC Introducing website and 130,000 artists registered since its launch in 2007, it provides a network dedicated to supporting the best emerging talent from across the UK and a platform to propel them onto the national stage through Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6 Music and the Asian Network, plus giving up-and-coming artists broadcast opportunities on BBC Radio, Television and Online alongside the chance to perform at major festivals and showcases. Over 500 acts have performed for BBC Introducing at major UK festivals since its launch and all the sets are filmed for broadcast across BBC Radio, Television and Online.
