Liam Hayes' New Album 'Slurrup' - "Vivid Of Hook And Big Of Heart" (Mojo) - Out This Week On Fat Possum
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Liam Hayes' new LP 'Slurrup' is out this week on Fat Possum and is earning rave reviews in the US and UK. The Guardian said 'Slurrup' is an album of "golden melodies by a man out of time," and The Observer described Hayes as "a fried, lovelorn Bacharach," with an album that's a "surprisingly perky psychedelic doodle on [his] own great American songbook." Liam played a sold-out show last night at Servant Jazz Quarters in London ahead of his North American dates, which include shows in New York City and Los Angeles (see schedule below).

The New York Times premiered the album stream a week ahead of release, and, earlier this week, Flavorwire debuted the video for "Fokus," saying Hayes "goes full Wes Anderson" and "has the energy of a 1960s troubadour going through a punk phase" in the "bright, gorgeous" video. Watch it here:

Hayes, who was called "one of the most charismatic and eccentric cult pop craftsmen of the past 20 years" by Uncut, will play U.S. shows later this month with the same three-piece band that recorded the album, including John San Juan on bass and Eric Reidelberger on drums/percussion.

Praise for 'Slurrup'
"A supersensitive listener and responder to a certain kind of 1960s and '70s American pop songwriter" - NY Times

"Adds muscle and sweat to his flair with hooks, paving the way for driving psych-rock standouts" - All Music

"Entrancing... addictive... ethereal... 'Slurrup' only gets better with repeated listening." - LA Daily News

"Vivid of hook and big of heart... ['Slurrup'] screams '1966!,' with its aching chord changes and spare, effervescent production delivering bubblegum rock and Bacharach-style pop with the lightest dusting of psychedelic glitter." - MOJO Magazine

"An enthralling return... All bizarre psych-pop shapes and classic power pop melodies, 'Slurrup' is instantly infectious" - Clash Magazine

"Wide-eyed riffs on soul and '60's pop." - Uncut
