Idina Menzel & John Legend To Sing Before Super Bowl XLIX
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) NBC announces that Idina Menzel will sing the National Anthem, while John Legend will perform "America the Beautiful" just before the Super Bowl XLIX kickoff at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona.

"Frozen" star Idina Menzel and singer-songwriter John Legend will belt out a couple of patriotic tunes to get it all started.
Menzel will follow in the footsteps of Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Neil Diamond and a long line of other big stars with big pipes when she steps up to sing the National Anthem.

As for Legend, who's fresh off a Golden Globe win and an Oscar nomination for the "Selma" song "Glory," he'll grab the mic and deliver a rendition of "America the Beautiful" before kickoff, an honor Queen Latifah took on last year.
Idina Menzel and John Legend will sing America's songs at Super Bowl XLIX.

But Legend and the "Let it Go" singer won't be the only ones to offer up those songs for the millions who'll tune in on game day. Actress Treshelle Edmond will perform both the National Anthem and "America the Beautiful" in American Sign Language.

As previously reported, Katy Perry will headline the halftime show. Lenny Kravitz will make a special appearance during Perry's 12-and-a-half-minute set, and she's eager for viewers to see what they've dreamed up together. "It feels like I've out dreamt my dream," she said.

Super Bowl XLIX kicks off Sunday, Feb. 1, at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. The performance will air live on NBC.
