Dancehall/Reggae Sensation Dexta Daps To Headline New York's 'Oracabessa Festival'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) With a slew of hit songs blazing the airwaves at home and stateside, dancehall sensation Dexta Daps is poised to make a big mark internationally as headline performer at the second annual Oracabessa Festival on Memorial Day, May 25th at Roy Wilkins Park in Queens, NYC. Daps has big shoes to fill. Last year, Jamaican reggae pop queen and Voice season five winner Tessanne Chin, proved her star power, delivering a spectacular performance before a crowd of over 15,000 strong at the inaugural Festival.

Arguably one of the hottest dancehall acts on the circuit now, the '7 Eleven' singjay announced his presence to the music world last year with the dancehall anthem '7eleven,' which became a staple on reggae charts globally. He is currently is riding the crest of popularity with 'Pretty Nicky' and 'Jealous Ova,' an erotic collaboration that was recorded with dancehall princess Tifa. The song has racked up thousands of hits on youtube and is extremely popular across the English speaking Caribbean.

"We are very, very excited to welcome to the Oracabessa Festival and to New York city, breakout Jamaican artiste for 2015 Dexta Daps" an ecstatic Bobby Clake, CEO of Irie Radio said.

"Fans have flooded our radio station with hundreds of calls, requesting that Dexta be included in the line up this year. And given that this will be his first major performance in this market, made him very attractive to us. We worked hard with his management team to make his appearance at the festival a reality" Clarke noted.

Daps will be joined on Oracabessa by Tarrus Riley, Alaine and the Grace Thrillers featuring gospel songbird Shirley Willis and friends. The award winning Riley is a bonafide crowd favorite in the trip-state area. He has had a slew of hit albums including 'Contagious,' which boast tracks like 'Lion Paw,' 'Beware,' 'Start A New' (Cut it Off), 'Good Girl Gone Bad and 'Human Nature,' a soul-stirring rendition of Michael Jackson's original 1983 hit. His sophomore album 'Parables,' yielded chart toppers such as the touching acoustic tribute to his daughter 'Can't Sleep', a haunting reggae rendition of John Legend's 'Stay With You' and the ladies anthem "She's Royal" which made him a household name across the Caribbean. 'She's Royal' top just about every reggae chart globally, won almost every award for which it was nominated and was hailed by Billboard Magazine as "the quintessence of Jamaica's roots reggae revival."
