Daniel Mata is an old soul.
Daniel Fernando Mata Lioce, who now resides in Marietta, Georgia, was born in Venezuela in 1996 and has an Italian background from his mother's side. At age 8,
Daniel and his family moved to the U.S. where he enrolled in second grade with his triplet siblings. He got inspired from a very young age when his mother would play records from
Andrea Bocelli and
Luciano Pavarotti. Mr. Mata has won numerous regional singing contests, has been active performing for several charities and has been covered on Atlanta TV as well as CNN. Furthermore,
Daniel was accepted into the prestigious Atlanta Opera High School Program where he was able to really hone his singing skills and immerse himself in classical music through vocal, dramatization, and stage presence workshops from professional mentors.

Dreaming Wide Awake" opens softly with a piano pattern nestled on a bed of lullaby-strings. Mr. Mata enters and floats the melody gently over the top. By the end of the first verse and throughout the second verse, he commands the listener's attention with his dynamic range, power and driving force that makes the listener take notice. His strong upper register and ability to lightly infuse pop sensibilities with his strong classical, tenor voice into a familiar operatic classic is quite engaging.
Daniel also crosses borders again doing "Where They Are" in both English Spanish. The taste and style he demonstrates on his debut EP clearly foreshadow a long career in this classic-pop niche.
