Randy Newman, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell To Play Intimate New Orleans Habitat For Humanity Benefit Concerts

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Randy Newman, Emmylou Harris, and Rodney Crowell will take part in two intimate evenings of music in truly special settings as only New Orleans could offer. As part of the tenth-anniversary commemoration of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Nonesuch Records, Warner Bros. Records, and New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH) will present an evening with Newman on August 24 and an evening with Harris and Crowell on August 26 to help NOAHH build homes for and with those who need them.

Each event will offer music in a spectacular private residence, memorable food—with special selections from Chef Susan Spicer (August 24) and Chef Nathaniel Zimet (August 26)—and good company. This past May, Nonesuch and Warner Bros. Records staff members joined NOAHH in building a home as part of the organization's Build-A-Thon building blitz in New Orleans East. Nonesuch Records' relationship with NOAHH goes back to the fall of 2005, when the label released Our New Orleans, a benefit album of newly recorded songs featuring artists from the New Orleans music community across a wide variety of styles to document the depth, richness, and profound musicality of the city. Randy Newman offered a new recording of his song "Louisiana 1927," featuring the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra with members of the New York Philharmonic, for the album.
