Isabel Rose Will Perform On August 30th At The Stephen Talkhouse In Amagansett, Following Last Year's Sold Out Concert
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On August 30th, Isabel Rose will be back at the Talkhouse after her sold out show last summer to raise the roof again. With her signature sassy style and a killer 9 piece band, Isabel draws from both the classic American songbook as well as contemporary selections, to bring you an hour of joyful good fun.

Singer-actress-writer Isabel Rose just wants happiness. She wants you to be happy, and she wants to be happy. "When I perform I'm always a persona," says Rose. "My act is fun, heightened, and accessible. I'm about upbeat, happy, and joy. Everything I do is done with a little bit of a wink."

It's this contagious exuberance that had people hanging from the rafters at her sold-out show at The Stephen Talkhouse last summer- an experience one critic called "a strangely sexy bat mitzvah, albeit with a killer band and an unforgettable chick singer." Rose's show, which is accompanied by a large orchestra, involves elements of stand-up comedy, storytelling, and enough costume changes to rival the great divas. "I'm kind of the opposite of a singersongwriter if your vision is a woman in jeans and flip-flops," she says wryly. "Hairpieces, go-go boots, and a lot of sequins are involved in what I do."

A lifelong musical theater and splashy MGM movie fan, Rose starred in "every single play" when she attended Yale (and still graduated summa cum laude) before launching a career as an actress, touring with the first national company of Six Degrees of Separation. Rose enjoyed acting, but sought greater creative expression, which led her to write her own material. She cowrote and starred in the indie film Anything But Love with Andrew McCarthy, and in her downtime on set, she finished her novel, The J.A.P. Chronicles (Doubleday), which she later turned into a play and starred in Off-Broadway.

These days, Rose is happiest being known as a Vegas-style songstress whose glossy tunes harken back to the nostalgic days of Technicolor glamour. On both of her albums, Swinging from the Hip and Trouble in Paradise- the latter produced by the renowned Bob Rock, known for his work with heavy -metal bands such as Metallica and AC/DC-Rose has reorchestrated favorites to her own taste. "There is a great element of drama to everything I do," she says. "My latest album has a real emphasis on Rat Pack '60s sounds, which is a lot of big-horn arrangements mixed with surf music and Pulp Fiction sounds. I specialize in deconstruction and reimagining songs."

It's no doubt that this summer's performance at the Talkhouse will be just as sizzling and unforgettable. "I never do the same show twice," says Rose, who will appear at The Stephen Talkhouse on August 30. "But like the others, it will be happy. It's an amazing feeling to be the thrower of confetti!"
