Fiddle Witch And The Demons Of Doom Capture Best New Act Honors At The 2015 Houston Press Music Awards
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) "And the Houston Press Music Award for the Best New Act of 2015 goes to -- Fiddle Witch and the Demons of Doom." https://fiddlewitch.com/

The Houston Press Music Awards celebrate Houston's thriving local talent scene. Fans and aficionados cast their votes with the final ballot reflecting a wide range of categories including Latin, folk, rock, country, alternative, and more.

Winners were announced at the Houston Press Music Awards Ceremony on Thursday, August 20th at Warehouse Live.

Regarding their win, Fiddle Witch band member SPIKE the Percussionist stated, "We're so thrilled to be given this recognition by our fans and colleagues who comprise the Houston music scene. We want to thank everyone who voted for us and congratulate all the winners and nominees in the various categories."

About Fiddle Witch, the Houston Press notes: "The band is comprised of local music veterans who have teamed up for an innovative blend of classical and metal, appealing to Houston's most eclectic headbangers. The Band: Jo Bird, Geoffrey Muller, SPIKE the Percussionist. The Backstory: Bird is one of the founders of fellow HPMA nominee Two Star Symphony and conceived this project in 2012 as a way to further explore her diverse influences. Bird was referred to SPIKE the Percussionist who shared her classical training and passion for metal and rock. Bassist Geoffrey Muller rounded out the trio. Where You've Seen Them: Rudyard's and Numbers. Next Gigs: The band is working on bookings while it records a new single in Los Angeles. Lessons Learned: "The Houston scene is vast yet well connected in many ways. There's lots of talent everywhere but launching it out into the rest of the world can be difficult."

Up next for Fiddle Witch is a recording session for a new single with acclaimed producer Ulrich Wild www.ulrichwild.com and a debut LA gig in November.
