Lakeshore Records Presents No Escape - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack
LOS ANGELES (Top40 Charts) Lakeshore Records will release the NO ESCAPE - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on August 21, 2015. The album features the film's original score by Marco Beltrami (3:10 TO YUMA, FANTASTIC FOUR) and Buck Sanders (THE HURT LOCKER, WARM BODIES). A deluxe version of the soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25th and on CD later this year, and features the new track "Take Care of You" by Jim James from the Grammy® nominated band My Morning Jacket.

"Director/writer John Dowdle and co-writer/producer Drew Dowdle brought the film to us in a form very close to what you'll see in the theater," said Beltrami. "We'd talked with them a few years ago about how The Hurt Locker was edited without a temp, and was originally conceived not to have a score. They were influenced by that idea with No Escape, and I think it really helped the film to edit it like that."

Award-winning composer Marco Beltrami established an early reputation as a genre innovator with non-traditional horror scores for the SCREAM franchise and DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK. Beltrami's musical palette has since expanded to virtually all film genres. Beltrami has received two Academy Award nominations for Best Score. First, for 3:10 TO YUMA, starring Russell Crowe and Christian Bale, and shortly after for his score to the Academy Award winning film for Best Picture, THE HURT LOCKER. Beltrami received a Golden Satellite Award in 2011 for Best Film Score of The Year for SOUL SURFER.

His recent projects include FANTASTIC FOUR, THE HOMESMAN, SNOWPIERCER, THE NOVEMBER MAN, THE GIVER, THE WOLVERINE, TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE, THE SESSIONS, A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD, and WARM BODIES. Beltrami has lent his musical voice to such unique hit films as LIVE FREE OR DIE HARD, TERMINATOR 3: RISE OF THE MACHINES, and I, ROBOT. Other scoring credits include THE WOMAN IN BLACK, THE THING, and DEADFALL. Most recently, Beltrami created the nail-biting score to WORLD WAR Z and the AMC spy thriller TURN.

Oscar-nominated composer Buck Sanders has carved out a niche as one of Hollywood's top musical experimenters, and as Marco Beltrami's right-hand man on nearly twenty years' worth of prestige films and genre classics. From horror standouts (RESIDENT EVIL, THE WOMAN IN BLACK) to modern westerns (3:10 TO YUMA, THE HOMESMAN), from sci-fi (I, ROBOT) to mysteries (KNOWING), zombies (WARM BODIES, WORLD WAR Z) and family dramas (SOUL SURFER) to heart-clenching war films (THE HURT LOCKER), he and Beltrami have forged a musical partnership that has won accolades and the loyalty of such filmmakers as Tommy Lee Jones, Kathryn Bigelow, Wes Craven, James Mangold, Joon-ho Bong, and Roland Joffé. In 2010, Sanders and Beltrami received an Oscar nomination for their spare, searing music for THE HURT LOCKER, which took their integration of sound effects and narrative atmosphere to a new level.

An intense international thriller, NO ESCAPE centers on an American businessman (Owen Wilson) as he and his family settle into their new home in Southeast Asia. Suddenly finding themselves in the middle of a violent political uprising, they must frantically look for a safe escape as rebels mercilessly attack the city. Directed by John Erick Dowdle and written together with his brother Drew (who also produced), NO ESCAPE stars Owen Wilson, Pierce Brosnan and Lake Bell.

"The palette of the score is mainly manipulated Asian percussion and modular Eurorack synths, with some string orchestra," Sanders described. "We played with the percussion sounds to really accent the 'stranger in a strange land' feeling in the film. We also used production recordings of some street musicians that were recorded on set. And I even recorded my daughter Roux doing a horrible, high-pitched scream and then slowed it down to help create a long, sustained 'pad' of wailing that channels the young girls' screams in the film."

The Weinstein Company presents NO ESCAPE in theaters August 26, 2015. Lakeshore Records will release the NO ESCAPE - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack digitally on August 21, and the deluxe version digitally on September 25th and on CD later this year.
