David Fricke To Host New Show Exclusively On SiriusXM Rock Journalist To Host Weekly Radio Show "The Writer's Block," On SiriusXM's The Spectrum Channel
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sirius XM) SiriusXM announced today that David Fricke, esteemed music critic and rock journalist, will host a new weekly music show on SiriusXM's The Spectrum channel.

In The Writer's Block, Fricke will hand-select an hour of music and share stories from his four decades of experience covering the biggest names in rock. The show will blend tracks from an array of classic and influential artists such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Nirvana, Blur, Joy Division, Foo Fighters, The Grateful Dead, and the Ramones, as well as brand-new music from artists such as The Arcs and the Dead Weather.

"With The Writer's Block, my life in music and journalism has come full circle on SiriusXM," said Fricke. "I got my start in radio, and it is an amazing honor and opportunity to bring my passions for great music and telling stories to the medium where I began."

"David Fricke has chronicled the history and world of rock and roll at the highest levels, but now he gets a journalist's dream assignment: picking and playing music from the stars he's interviewed," said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM's President and Chief Content Officer. "In an age of playlists that are automated, the picks from David will be debated and scrutinized, and we think thoroughly enjoyed by our listeners nationwide. The combination of great songs and David's stories to go with them can be found nowhere else but SiriusXM."

The Writer's Block will premiere on Thursday, September 24 at 8:00 pm ET on SiriusXM's The Spectrum, via satellite on channel 28 and through the SiriusXM App on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as online at siriusxm.com. The show will replay Saturday, September 26 at 4:00 pm ET.

Subscribers will also be able to listen to The Writer's Block via SiriusXM On Demand through the SiriusXM App for smartphones and other mobile devices and online at siriusxm.com.

David Fricke has been a music critic and journalist for more than four decades, and more recently has sat down with major artists such as Keith Richards, Chris Cornell and Buddy Guy for special one-on-one interviews on SiriusXM. Fricke is a senior writer at Rolling Stone, contributes to the acclaimed British magazine MOJO and is a three-time winner of the ASCAP-Deems Taylor Award for excellence in music journalism. He is a Grammy-nominated writer of liner notes for reissues by the Byrds, the Velvet Underground, Metallica and Led Zeppelin, among others, and has appeared in major rock documentaries about Wilco, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana and Lou Reed.

The Spectrum plays the past, present and future adult album rock artists. Listeners will hear U2, Rolling Stones, The Black Keys, David Bowie, Mumford & Sons, Tom Petty, R.E.M., Hozier and The Police.
