NJ Native Delivers Battlecry Through Fiery Falsetto
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) New Jersey native, Lauren Marsh, announces the Veracity EP release on January 22, 2016.The EP, produced by Chris Badami (Madonna, The Early November), includes the lead single, "Promise," which is currently available as a free download. As the single opens with bombastic drum beats, Veracity unfurls like a flag of female empowerment with Marsh's fiery falsetto leading the charge.

Marsh was first discovered by Badami through YouTube after hearing about one of her open mic performances from a close friend. Together they worked to create a batch of songs driven by massive instrumentals and infectious hooks. Badami says, "From the moment I saw Lauren perform I wanted to work with her. Her talent, dedication and honesty in her music drew me right in."

That honesty finds itself in the raw emotion that defines Veracity and the events that inspired it. Marsh has overcome a frightful and hostile stalker, a severe car accident in 2013, a dangerous incident in a parking lot, and then a night in NYC, which ended in the hospital ER when someone deliberately drugged her drink.

Marsh says, "I refuse to let them define me. They're just events. I am stronger than all of it. They may be part of my story but I will never give anything the power to hold me back or keep me from living fully." Marsh's story speaks to womanhood and humankind as a whole, and her EP serves as an impassioned battle cry filled with strength and tenacity. Her soaring vocals breathe new life, showcasing the healing power of music to overcome the greatest of odds. This is the substance that binds Veracity together, that no experience or event can diminish the value, strength, or brilliance of a person.

"Promise," the first track on the album, is Marsh sprinting full-force out of the starting gate. Her vocal melodies are triumphant proclamations of the dedication to her art; she asserts that as long as she believes in herself, her overwhelming passion will carry her forward. Blaring synths accompany her message, as she sings, "And we'll be rockin' like a rollin' stone/ Crusin' through time zones/I promise I won't let you stand alone."

About Lauren Marsh
Lauren Marsh's music is her driving force. By age 14, Marsh was writing full songs, combining her melodies with poems she'd been inscribing in notebooks for years. Now, she has had songs played in over 8000 movie theaters for pre-show entertainment, as well as indie films. Her songs have been featured by Screenvision, alongside bands such as Corinne Bailey Rae and The Doobie Brothers. She has played festivals with artists including Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Foster the People, and her debut EP Ready for Takeoff was awarded "Top Indie EP of the Year" by Jersey Acoustic Music Awards. Marsh does all of her own PR, booking, design, and branding, even as she continues to experience wider success as an independent singer and artist.
