Sevendust & Candlebox Members Stand Up To Bullying; Raise Money For Fund For Teen Who Committed Suicide
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) October is National Bullying Awareness Prevention month and to help raise awareness for this epidemic, Le Projet, the band featuring members of Candlebox, Sevendust and The Infinite Staircase, has launched a multi-tiered anti-bullying initiative to support the Brandon Bitner Memorial Scholarship.

Brandon Bitner committed suicide at the age of 14 after being bullied for four years and was an avid music lover.

As part of the campaign, Le Projet and Candlebox lead singer Kevin Martin has filmed a personal PSA about his own experience with bullying and explains why he wrote Le Projet's ultimate anti- bullying song "Little Sh#ts".

The band has also partnered with Event Hustler to develop T-shirts with the hash tag #WHATYOUSAY?, which is the chorus to "Little Sh#ts" reminding everyone that what they say has an impact on others, to support the scholarship fund. Portions of every sale will be donated directly to the Brandon Bitner Memorial Scholarship.

According to Martin, he felt compelled to write "Little Sh#ts" after learning of another tragic suicide like Bitner's.

"I was inspired by a story I had read about a young girl who committed suicide because she had been emotionally bullied via social networking sites and her cell phone by several kids in her school. I remember feeling such sadness not only for her family but for every kid that I began to read about that was dealing with the same thing," said Martin. "My first thought was 'how can people be so cruel to one another?' My second thought was 'You have to write a song about this!' I tried to put a face to these bullies but all I could give them was a name. 'Little Sh#ts!'I think it fits."

ABOUT LE PROJET

A culmination of thousands of cities toured and millions of records sold...
Kevin Martin (CANDLEBOX), Morgan Rose (SEVENDUST), Adam Kury (CANDLEBOX) and Lenny Cerzosie (THE INFINITE STAIRCASE) decided to build off long-time relationships, past musical collaborations as well as co-inhabited tours and start something new. The group began recording their first EP on May 19th, 2014.

Over the course of three and a half days, the group wrote and recorded three songs from scratch with no preconceived notions or ideas. The band was joined by former BLACK LABEL SOCIETY guitarist Nick Catanese during these sessions.

The initial concept for this project began in 2013 when Martin, Rose and Cerzosie released a single to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy called "The Pride" with Cerzosie's band THE INFINITE STAIRCASE. Also featured on the track are BLACK LABEL SOCIETY's Zakk Wylde and John "JD" DeServio. The song spent six weeks in the American Mainstream Rock Radio Top 40 Charts, peaking at #27.

The musicians worked so well together that talk began early on of future collaborations. With everyone's ever-changing schedules, it almost seemed impossible; that is until the Cerzosie brothers reached out to everyone with a common break in schedules in mid-May 2014.

With a brief break in Sevendust's current tour schedule and Candlebox finally lightening their dates after their very successful 20th Anniversary Tour, everything finally fell into place.

Today, the band is back in the recording studio finishing their album and has added Fosterchild guitarist Brian Quinn to the lineup.

Adding Quinn to the group was an easy decision, according to Kevin Martin, as he and Quinn had already performed and toured together as label mates on a Warner Brothers subsidiary label. Quinn has over 20 years of professional experience playing and recording with multiple national artists.

To date, the group has released five singles, including: "Head Down", "Little Sh*ts", "Save Yourself", "Refugee" and "Wait For It" that are available at all major online retailers including iTunes.
