Sony/ATV Signs Pentatonix To Worldwide Publishing Deal
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Sony/ATV Music Publishing has signed a worldwide publishing deal with the Grammy-winning, platinum-selling vocal group Pentatonix ahead of the release of their debut full-length album.

The deal takes in the quintet's writing collaborations for their previously-released series of hugely successful EPs and holiday albums, as well as future songs featured on their forthcoming, self-titled studio album. The album will be released by RCA Records on October 16 and is preceded by brand new single "Can't Sleep Love", which was co-written & co-produced by the group.

Sony/ATV Co-President, U.S. Danny Strick said: "We are very excited to be working with Pentatonix as their original repertoire begins to impact the market. While their existing catalog of covers, which includes many Sony/ATV copyrights, has found a remarkable fan base both on record and on stage, we believe that their songwriting contributions on the upcoming album will take them to the next level. We look forward to working with them on collaborations with our great writers for the future."

Pentatonix are one of the most successful U.S. groups to have emerged this decade, having initially broken through as season 3 winners of NBC's The Sing-Off in 2011. Originating from Arlington, Texas and comprising of Scott Hoying, Mitch Grassi, Kirstin Maldonado, Avi Kaplan and Kevin Olusola, they have gone on to sell more than 2 million albums in the U.S. alone, won a Grammy Award, sold out venues worldwide, have amassed over 1 billion views on their YouTube channel with nearly 9 million subscribers and appeared in the feature film Pitch Perfect 2. All six of their releases have peaked within the Top 5 on Billboard's Digital Albums chart with five of those releases reaching the Top 10 or higher on the Billboard Top 200 album chart. Most recently, the group received two gold certifications for their "Daft Punk" medley and cover of Imagine Dragons' "Radioactive" ft. Lindsey Stirling.

Shortly after their signing to RCA Records in May 2014, the group released their first ever platinum selling album, That's Christmas to Me, which sold more than 1.2 million copies in the U. S. and was the 4th best-selling album of the year. This past summer the group toured with Kelly Clarkson and released their very first documentary (On My Way Home). The documentary follows the quintet on their sold out 2015 North American Tour featuring behind-the-scenes footage, life performance and the making of their debut studio album, Pentatonix. Their video for, "Can't Sleep Love" already has over 4.5 million views.

The group are best known for their unique takes on songs originally recorded by other artists, including "Royals" (Lorde) (56+ million views), "Say Something" (A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera) (41+ million views), "Happy" (Pharrell Williams) (20+ million views) and "Problem" (Ariana Grande featuring Iggy Azalea) (25+ million views), while they have also contributed a number of original songs to their EPs and albums. These songs consist of "The Baddest Girl" (PTX Vol I), "Show You How To Love" (PTX Vol. I), 4 songs from PTX Vol. II, "On My Way Home" (PTX Vol III) and the title track of the That's Christmas To Me album.

Pentatonix's writing prowess is set to move up another level with the group's self-titled next album, which features original material from the band, including the new single "Can't Sleep Love".
