The next spring, while Kimberly was setting up a family photo where they had laid Julia to rest six months earlier,
Aaron was reminded of her and of how precious life is.
"I had such an overwhelming mixture of emotions seeing Jake, Jack and Jolee Kate smiling in a field of bluebonnets (the state flower of Texas), while having the place we laid their little sister to rest in the distance behind them,"
Aaron says. He went home that night and wrote: "Pack light & love heavy, give it all your heart and soul and in the end you won't regret one thing. Life is like bluebonnets in the spring.'"
Those words became "Bluebonnets (Julia's Song)." It's not only a tribute to Aaron's daughter, it represents facing heartbreak, the hard process of healing, and coming out on the other side. It's about redemption and faith.
