Gregory shared the first place win with co-finalist Siedah Garrett in the rock/pop category for his song 'Surrender Now,' which was played on by Tom Michael-Bass,
Brett Vargason-Drums, Scott Heyniger-Keys and Todd Shay- Guitar "Collectively known as Zodlounge," produced by Dick Williams, (Song arrangement/Instrumentation), and Gregory Markel (Vocal arrangements w/Duncan McFarlane engineering, Altered

Gregory Markel upon learning of the win, was quoted as saying, "With the state of the world being as it is, winning the Global Peace Song Award for my song about peace, is especially important and special to me.
