Terence Trend Presents: "Funky Town" With Junior Marvin Of Bob Marley's Wailers, Oogee Wawa, And More, October 8, 2016
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Saturday, October 8th beginning at 1PM Terence Trend Presents: Funkytown- a Funk, Rock & Reggae Celebration featuring none other than Junior Marvin of Bob Marley and The Wailers at Tropix On the Mile, one of the hottest spots on Long Island's south shore at 395 Woodcleft Ave, Freeport, NY 11520!

Julian "Junior" Marvin joined Bob Marley & the Wailers in early 1977. This was a traumatic time for the band: Marley had recently been shot, and the group decamped for London, where they quickly began the recording sessions that would result in the release of Exodus a few months later. Marvin was featured on the live Babylon by Bus album that was recorded while the Wailers toured in support of Exodus, as well as on the studio albums Kaya, Survival, and Uprising, the last of which would prove to be Bob Marley's final studio recording; he died in 1981. However, members of the Wailers continued to record and tour as the Wailers Band in the late '80s and 1990s, and Marvin played an important role in that project; he served as both guitarist and producer or co-producer (with bass player Aston "Family Man" Barrett) on the studio albums I.D., Majestic Warriors, and Jah Message, and is also featured on a live compilation titled Live 95-97 My Friends. During this period he also contributed guitar parts on such celebrated reggae releases as Burning Spear's Fittest of the Fittest, Alpha Blondy's Jerusalem, and Joe Higgs' Blackman Know Yourself. In 1997 Marvin left the Wailers Band and relocated to Brazil, where he formed a short-lived group called Batuka. Following his return to Jamaica he continued working as a session player. In 2012 he was Endorsed by Paul Reed Smith Guitars & is proud to be part of the Paul Reed Smith Guitars Family as an official endorsed PRS Artist. Junior's most recent solo albums include "Wailin For Love", "Smoking' To The Big M Music", & "Lion To Zion Dub Wise" all available on iTunes, cdbaby & All Digital outlets Worldwide.

The event, sponsored in part by 94.3 The Shark, Euphoria Psychedelic Gift Shop, 103.1 MAX FM, Wyld Chyld Tattoo and K98.3, will also feature some of the Island's best musical acts including Alternative Reggae Hip-Hop Rocker's Oogee Wawa, King Wellington, Aqua Cherry, Bunktown Falls, Rico and The Rebels, Roots Foundation, and The End Period.

The hottest, nicest and classiest place on the South Shore, Tropix On the Mile lets you kick your feet up in the sand during the daytime, and kick your feet to music dancing at night! South Beach meets Vegas meets Nautical Mile!

With the one and only Junior Marvin set to bring some of his iconic classics from his days with The Wailers and more to the stage, and joined by an outstanding lineup of Long Island talent; Terence Trend Presents: Funkytown- a Funk, Rock & Reggae Celebration is set to be one of the hottest events on the Mile at Tropix!
