Drake Postpones Tour Dates Due To Ankle Injury
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Drake is making some changes to his Summer Sixteen Tour itinerary. A day after nearly surprising students at Drake University, the OVO boss announced that hes postponing three tour dates in Toronto, Philadelphia, and Newark due to a persistent ankle injury.

"I hate to be told I can't do something, but under doctor's orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support," Drake wrote in a statement on OVO's blog. The rapper had also been instructed to also avoid the New Jersey shows entirely but will maintain one of the two dates since he has never performed at the arena before.

"I am crushed to even be typing this announcement because I feel like I am letting my fans in these cities down. I only want to give you the best show you deserve, I promise - I will make it up to you." The rapper ended his note by promising "new music and a stronger ankle."

Drake has traversed North America on his Summer Sixteen Tour since July, including multiple buzzy concerts at New Yorks Madison Square Garden in August. The Toronto rappers fourth studio album, Views, has proved a commercial juggernaut since its April release, topping the Billboard 200 album chart for 13 nonconsecutive weeks and becoming the first album to surpass one billion streams on Apple Music last week. Hes also appeared on two No. 1 singles on the Hot 100: Rihannas Work and his own One Dance.
