Kimberley Dahme Announces Summer Tour Dates Starting July 23
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist Kimberley Dahme, formerly of arena rock band BOSTON, has announced Summer tour dates in the Northeast beginning July 23. This limited run of dates will see the Nashville-based songwriter stepping into the spotlight to perform her own material -- both old and new -- along with select cover tunes that hold special meaning to her.

Kimberley has been working on a new album for the last few years, and is excited about sharing these new songs with a live audience. "I've been in the creating process, writing for years, and feel the time is finally right to showcase the music I've been working on." she says. "To be honest, it's a little scary. Songwriting is a very personal thing, and it becomes part of you during the process. When you step onstage to share it with an audience, it can be a little intimidating, especially when you're playing a small venue where you're so close to the audience. In some ways, standing onstage in front of thousands of people with BOSTON is easier than performing an intimate show. But it's exciting at the same time, and I can't wait to get out there and perform live."

Born and raised in California, Kimberley has been playing, performing, and writing music since she was a little girl. By the time she was 19, she was singing and writing radio jingles for the likes of Toyota, Wrangler Jeans, and Pontiac. Kimberley studied Music and Radio/TV announcing while attending college on music and sports scholarships (in fact, the 6-foot Kimberley still holds her high school's basketball rebound record!).

Kimberley became the first female member of arena rock band BOSTON in 2002, playing bass with them at the Fiesta Bowl in front of 74,000 people and millions of viewers live on television. In a 2003 interview with Alan Scully of Allentown's The Morning Call, BOSTON's Tom Scholz recalled how Kimberley came to join the band: "We went out to see a country rock drummer who we were considering, and he wasn't quite right for the group," Scholz said. "But he had this tall, beautiful blonde singing backup and playing guitar who did not hit one bad note the whole night and stole the show, frankly." The attention-getting blonde was Dahme. "Afterward, we went up and talked to her and she was sweet, real nice, no attitude, and jokingly we asked her if she wanted to play bass in the band because we had enough guitar players, but we didn't have a bassist. A few weeks later she got in touch with me, and she said, "I went to the hock shop, I bought a bass and I want the gig.' So we auditioned her and she cut it. Then we started listening to some of her songs and I realized she's an incredibly talented writer, plays flute, acoustic guitar, and now bass, and sings like a bird."

"Kimberley is a terrifically talented singer, songwriter, bassist, and guitarist." - Brad Delp, BOSTON

In a nod to her songwriting skills, Kimberley's song "With You" was included on BOSTON's Corporate America CD, and she is featured on BOSTON's latest album Life, Love and Hope, taking lead vocals on "If You Were in Love" and "You Gave Up On Love," along with contributing vocals with the late Brad Delp on "Sail Away."

Kimberley's music is a mix of Classic Rock/Blues and contemporary Country. She writes about true life stories and, while she can "rock" with the best of them, she is not afraid to show her vulnerable side with her tender, heartfelt ballads. "For my concerts, my set consists of 70% original songs mixed with 30% cover tunes -- songs I wish I'd written; I choose songs that move me, and songs that I hope the audience will enjoy and maybe even like to sing along to," says Dahme. "I write songs that tell stories about life. Hopefully, in a song, I'll be telling your story.... striking a chord within your heart... while we make new memories together."
