Vitamin String Quartet Puts A Classical Spin On The Weeknd

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) has re-imagined some of the most popular rock, pop, and R&B hits of all time. On February 24th, Vitamin String Quartet will release its new album, VSQ Performs The Weeknd (Vitamin Records). The album puts a classical spin on the singer's dark and sensuous R&B in this seven-song collection which includes such hits as "Starboy," "Earned It," "Can't Feel My Face," and more.

Listen here as VSQ re-envisions the #1 hit "Starboy" for two violins, viola, and cello.
VSQ, not a quartet in the traditional sense, is a series of string projects developed and produced by CMH Label Group, an independent record company based in Los Angeles. The CMH team works with an ever-evolving cast of string players, arrangers, and other creatives to bring each project to life.

Since its inception in 1999, the series has amassed over 3.8 million downloads, over 1 million CDs sold, and over 250 million streams, garnering multiple Billboard chartings along the way. Los Angeles Times recently profiled the VSQ team, and L.A. Record described VSQ as "classical instrumentation with a sizzling twist."

The series features over 300 albums, honoring such artists as David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Sigur Ros, Daft Punk, Weezer, Kanye West, Queen, Lady Gaga, Adele, Muse, and many more. The series has grown to include signature sheet music, video and instructional content, TV appearances, and exclusive live performances. In 2014, VSQ was a featured performer at Spotify House at SxSW.

VSQ's music was recently featured on the popular HBO series Westworld with its renditions of Nine Inch Nails' "Something I Can Never Have" and Radiohead's "Motion Picture Soundtrack." VSQ has also been featured on other hits shows such as Modern Family, Shameless, and Gossip Girl.

To promote the upcoming release, the team will be live-streaming a performance of "Starboy" on February 22nd, during one of their new-music workshops. More details to follow at
