New York, NY (Top40 Charts) With a career spanning more than 20 years, Panteón Rococó, is without doubt an eminent band of the Latin Ska movement and presently one of the biggest drawing acts hailing from Mexico. The 11 piece group is preparing to kick off 2017 with recently announced events that include a first time performance at the Cosquín Rock Festival of Córdoba, Argentina, their return to Los Angeles to headline once again the Skanking Reggae Fest, and their anticipated debut at the SXSW International Music Festival in Austin for two important performances.

The group, which began its career in 1995 in the midst of the Zapatista movement in Mexico and from it's roots embraced a social and activist consciousness, began the year by accepting the invitation of SXSW to deliver 2 concerts and to attend several promotional events in Austin, Texas. Panteón Rococó's first performance is scheduled at the SXSW Outdoor Stage at Lady Bird Lake, a free event open to the public co-headlining with Residente from band Calle 13 and other surprise artist on Thursday, March 16. The band's second show will be presented by Kichink On at the Parish, on Friday, March 17.

2016 was a significant year for Panteón Rococó as they continued their trek in celebrating a career of two decades by delivering critically acclaimed performances at big arenas and music festivals throughout Mexico. It was the year they released their 8th album "XX Years", a CD/DVD (Sony Music) recorded live at the sold out 20th Anniversary Concert at the CDMX Arena in front of more than 23,000 attendees. Within weeks of its launch the album achieved Gold status for its sales in Mexico.

The same year also saw the band break new ground with their live performances; their first ever Canadian Tour met with commercial and critical success, summer 2016 saw them returning to Europe for a long tour, and they ended 2016 with a sold out show in Mexico City's Palacio de los Deportes with 25,000 attendees, showing once more their ability to attract large crowds to their concerts.

Building on the strengths of 2016, Panteón Rococó kicks off 2017 with an eye towards new paths and new goals. Currently the group taking time in the studio to compose what will be their new album, with scheduled breaks to perform selected live shows starting in February. Featured among their highlighted shows is the aforementioned Cosquín Guadalajara Festival (Saturday 18) where they will share headliner credits with Caifanes and Café Tacvba, followed by the Cosquín Festival in Argentina (February 26), a massive concert en Querétaro (March 4), the Skanking Reggae Festival as headliners (March 11, the SXSW performances (March 16 & 17), their return to Cancun (March 24), and a show in Cuautitlán Izcalli in State of Mexico (April 1). Other dates to shortly be announced. The Panteón Rococó Europe tour is confirmed for July and the U.S. Tour is to be announced for the second half of the year.
