The Peter Tosh Museum Presents The Steppin' Razor Experience On February 25, 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) On Saturday, February 25th (9:30PM-3:00AM), the Peter Tosh Museum will present The Steppin' Razor Experience at the newly appointed Peter Tosh Square at the Pulse Centre! The event will feature live and recorded music, and fans can expect an electric celebratory party atmosphere as a number of reggae heavyweights headline the live performances, which will begin at midnight. These include the likes of Andrew Tosh, Dre Tosh, young Jahzarah McIntosh (who will perform her tribute song dedicated to her late grandfather), Asadenaki Wailer, and Garnett Silk Jr, with others to be announced in the coming days. Peter Tosh music will be the central note in the evening's activities.

Guests will also be able to go on special tours in what is being dubbed as "a night at the Museum." Tours will be offered at discounted rates and Jamaicans and visitors alike will get another opportunity to access this already famous facility comfortably. Endorsed by no less an icon than Mick Jagger, the Tosh museum has been cited by the New York Times as a key reason to visit Kingston this year, naming Jamaica's capital city #24 in the list of places to visit in 2017. Similar museum notices have appeared in the Washington Post, the UK Guardian, Billboard magazine and scores of other news publications around the world.

The museum honors the life and legacy of Peter Tosh, Jamaica's global music legend and founding member (with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer) of the critically acclaimed reggae group, the Wailers. Prime Minister, Andrew Holness was guest speaker at the official dedication ceremony on Tosh's birthday, October 19, 2016.

In an official statement, the Tosh Museum said "As we enter Reggae, as well as Black History Month in February, this whole period presents a great opportunity for people to visit the museum to learn more, not only about Tosh's significant contribution to Jamaica's cultural history, but also his social justice advocacy which is as salient today as it was in his time. His position on equal rights, apartheid and the legalization of marijuana, resonates around the world to this day. Some will say more today, than ever before."

The Steppin' Razor experience comes at a time when Kingston and it's cultural sites are being celebrated. No wonder UNESCO has declared Kingston a creative city for music, yet another accolade for the birthplace of mento, ska, rocksteady, reggae and dancehall music.

The Peter Tosh Museum is a joint-venture collaboration between the Peter Tosh Estate, Pulse Investments Ltd, and Marlene Brown. A self-taught guitar and keyboard player, Tosh and The Wailers pioneered the burgeoning reggae scene in the late 1960's, and together they toured the world. Tosh left the band in 1973 to pursue his solo career and earned huge success with "Legalize It" and several other solo releases.

The Peter Tosh museum is a treasure trove of the best of Jamaica's musical history.
